    Stalled..So frustrating

I had my surgery on December 17th and I stalled toward the end of my second week and through my third week. I finally started losing during my fourth week. I was doing just as you good with protein, water, supplements, etc and still didn't lose. Just keep doing what. Your doing, your body is adjusting and the pounds will start to drop soon.

    I need ideas

I have trouble with breakfast so I have been looking for quick options. I am going to try cooking a batch of mini frittatas this weeken. They can be frozen and just popped in the microwave. I plan on making mine with egg beaters, feta cheese, ground turkey and spinach. The calorie count is very low as well as the carb count but one serving is close to 20 grams of protein.
  3. I am so with you! I am 46 years old and had my hip replaced in September 2013. After recovering from that surgery I tried to begin exercising and doing Atkins and only lost like 6 pounds in three weeks. I think after all the years of yo-yo dieting, I must have wrecked havoc on my metabolism. That's when I decided to have the sleeve done. I only told a handful of people prior to the surgery and all of them were supportive. I did not however tell all of my family. My husband, kids and mom were the only ones who knew. During Christmas some family members on my husbands side were asking why I did such a thing.... my mom, quickly responded by telling them that I needed to get the weight off my hips. They became silent. My husband wasn't too excited about this but when I shared with him the amount of pain I was in on a daily basis, he backed off. I am 17 days post op and I already feel better. I simply don't have time for anyone with negative comments. This is my life, my health!

What kind of drains to expect?

My surgeon left my JP Drain in until my two week post op visit. I think I had a catheter just during surgery but I have no memory of it. The JP drain was irritating and I was so glad to get it removed.

    Does anyone regret this surgery?

I had my surgery on December 17th so I am 12 days post op. I had an unexpected hiatal hernia repair with my sleeve surgery which I believe is where 90 percent of my pain has come from. My surgeon also left my drain tube in which is the biggest complaint about this whole surgery. I don't have any regrets about the surgery at all. I know that eventually I will get solid food but I also know that I have to learn to make better choices for my health's sake. I cannot go back to eating the greasy patty melts and bowels of fat and calorie rich ice cream. I am spending my time looking for healthier options to cook for me and my family once I am able to transition into soft/solid foods. The surgical recovery phase is the hardest thing but the benefits will far outweigh the pain and puréed foods in the long run.
