  1. I would definitely stick to turkey, white meat only. Salad is good, without dressing, or maybe a light vinaigrette. Maybe there will be a veggie tray? Good luck to you!!!
  2. Did or does anyone else have a 2 day bowel prep for the RNY? My surgery is 1/16/14 and I have to start my bowel prep on 1/14/16
  3. Got a lot of information today during my preop appointment. Talked with anesthesiologist and nurse. I'll be on a liquid diet beginning January 2nd consisting of 4 protein shakes and clear liquids. Yum! Can't wait!! I'm just so ready for my RNY!!!!
  4. Erin.Nicole....you are sooooo lucky.
  5. That's not too far from me. Mine is exactly one month from today!!!
  6. At least we get to experience a little bit of Christmas supper! That's a positive!!
  7. Surgery date for me is January 16th, I start my pre-op full liquid diet on January 2nd. I don't think it'll be that bad...I can have cream based soups, protein shakes and puddings.
  8. Cfergie911, you were lucky!! Good luck to u! I'll be discharged when you're being admitted! My surgery is January 16th.
  9. Maybe that's it, I'm Tricare Mid-Atlantic. Well, I certainly wish you the best!! Keep us posted.
  10. BTW, my BMI was only 35.2, however, I have severe co-morbities that I believe helped to persuade Tricare to accept me, including severe high blood pressure (210/160), severe back pain, diabetes, high triglycerides (900's), and high cholesterol.
  11. I don't know what type of Tricare you have but my first appointment with my primary care doctor (addressing weight loss surgery possibilities) was August 19, 2013 and my surgery date is January 16, 2014. I have Tricare Prime. All I had to do was: (in no particular order) 3 dietician appointments, exercise physiologist, 5 documented support groups, information session, sleep study, psychological evaluation and I was approved two weeks after my initial doctor appointment. As far as showing failed attempts of weight loss programs, all I had to do was write them down. I hope all works out for you. I've been on a 20 year diet it seems and my weight loss surgery journey has taken me 4.5 months. Good luck to anyone who reads this!!!
  12. Wow, ok..so, I guess I'll take my meds with me. I met with a pharmacist already to develop a liquid concoction of all my current meds for after surgery. Thanks to you all and good luck for your surgery and/or post-op losing! !
  13. Walter Reed in Bethesda. My husband is active duty navy so I'm blessed with Tricare covering it 100%.
  14. I am indeed. The fear of the unknown!! I'm all stocked up though on my vitamins and pre-op clear liquid diet food. I have a 2 week clear liquid diet prior to my January 16th gastric bypass surgery. What about you?
  15. My surgery is January 16th and my pre-op is December 20th. Just curious to know what I'm in for. I remember them saying i'll see the anesthesiologist but not sure what else.
  16. Well, good luck to you!! And hope your holidays are wonderful

  22. I'm very new to this app so I'm responding for the first time. My surgery date is January 16th. I've seen a few others with my same date. Good luck to everyone!! My pre-op is December 20th where I'll talk with the anesthesiologist and do all the necessary labs.
