  2. Hello fellow SoCal VSG'ers!! I'm so glad to have found a group of those who are local and share the same Journey. It's like a brotherhood / sisterhood among us who went through with Surgical Weight Loss (SWL) and living the life. I'm just over 1 week post op and doing well so far. I've already lost 30lbs since starting the pre op diet!! Hope to hear from you all :-)
  3. My sleeve procedure went well, Dr Mir Ali did an awesome job. I want to thank all the nurses at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital for taking case of me, they did a great job taking care of me. Had mild discomfort due to gas and slight pain getting up out of bed at times. Home now on my liquid diet feeling pretty good two days out.... Let the journey continue.

  7. Tomorrow is the day for me as well. Check in time is 5:30 am, operation at 9 am. I'm soon ready !!!!
  8. Tomorrow (December 31) is the day I have my surgery! I'm very excited and nervous. I have been so wrapped up reading "The Big Book on the Gastric Sleeve" on Kindle and reading the post on here that I have neglected to see how my girlfriend has been holding up emotionally. We are good now...I hope. See you all on the Post Op Forum tomorrow afternoon :-)
  9. Thank you so much TonyaMac for the info!! will go out in a bit to buy some Gas X Strips :-)
  10. Coming down the home stretch with Clear liquids in hand and Milk of Magnesia in the other. Tomorrow (December 31) is my surgery and I am both excited and nervous. I have been so immerse reading "The Big Book on the Gastric Sleeve" to get ready for tomorrow and to stay focused on the positives of what is about to happen and what is yet to come. I have already lost 20 lbs since starting my pre op diet of Protein shakes. I had to poke a new hole in my belt just to keep my pants up...LOL

  12. The Holidays were very hard for me as well, I was on my 4th day of my pre op diet and struggling...but I DID IT!! as this morning I lost 11 lbs....I feel victorious and looking forward to Operation Day 12/31...couldn't think of a better way to start the new year.
  13. I DID IT!! i'm on day 5 of my liquid diet and I didn't even cheat on Christmas Eve or Christmas day, though the dinners looked soooo good!! but as of this morning I lost 11 lbs, so i'm feeling victorious...

  15. Day 4 of my liquid diet...still sticking to it thru Christmas. it's hard I will admit, I'm struggling with all the holiday food and candies all around, but my surgery is now less than a week away (December 31st) and I want to be ready as possible. The protein shakes are ok, but the pineapple and apricot protein shake makes me feel sick .. Maybe that's a good thing since I'm not hungry. This site has been a godsend and a great support leading up to the big day... Thank you all.
  16. As my surgery date draws nearer (12/31/2013), my girlfriend is going through some mixed emotional feeling about the changes in our relationship after my surgery and weight loss. I'm sure there are many other girlfriends, boyfriends, spouses, parents and grandparents of those who are pre-op or Post-op who would benefit from a forum of their own to connect with others and express how they feel, build support for one an other and learn ways to support their loved ones who made the choice to live a healthier life. You can even break the forums down by: pre-op loved ones support, post op loved ones support. Thanks, Joe
  17. Today I start my liquid diet with 4 meal replacement drinks a day. This will be a challenge since it's Christmas time, too bad they didn't have egg nog flavored drinks.. Oh we'll. wish me luck :-)
  18. My surgery is scheduled for December 31, 2013 in the OC (Orange County, Ca). Couldn't think of a better way to celebrate New Years Eve and bring in the new year with hope of a healthier and happy new year :-)
  19. I'm having my sleeve procedure on 12/31/2013 in Orange County also! Wishing you a fast recovery and a happy new life caligirl3 :-)
