Really?!?!? I have read a lot of good things about this doctor but I don't know if they require psych evaluations? Sorry! You know I was just reading this other tread about doctors in Texas!

Sorry to hear about your BAD experience. How long have you been taking pain meds.? When they send me to do my psych evaluation I told the nurse do I have to go to see if I'm crazy and she laugh and said no it to see if you have problems with drugs or ever been addicted to drugs! Maybe but just maybe your psych doctor said that your taking "drug" ( pain meds )? Can you stop taking pain meds. If you have too?? I'm no trying to say you're addicted or nothing like that, but just trying to see if maybe since your taking pain meds. They think those are DRUG that you can't stop taking?! That's the only thing I can think of! But have you thought about Mexico? There's a lot of people that they have done there surgery in Mexico and there very happy! The only reason I'm saying that if because your paying cash! Sorry for all that you both are going thru!

My surgeon gave me papers the first visit and he only requires 4 day of liquid diet before surgery! I don't know why the nurse told me to start shrinking my liver if the doctor told us at the seminar that he don't ask any of his patient to do that unless they are 300 pounds or more! :0/

Hi Kelly! I have my NUT appt tomorrow and will see what she says tomorrow! Had my ultrasound today and they will fax the results tomorrow! Next week I have my last appt which is the psych evaluation! Then to submit to insurance and the wait for approval!

Kelly I have a question! Did your surgeon asked you to start shrinking your liver??

Hi! I was thinking the if I was qualify I will be having surgery June or July! But when I talk to the surgeon staff they inform me that my insurgence only require 2 or 3 weight management meeting so I started in December and I just need one more meeting which is going to be February 17. So I already got a servitude date which is March 7!! I'm sooooo nervous tho!!!! I this is going to change my life of course!! So I'm scared of the unknown?!?! But happy because I'm already feeling more confident about my self and just by knowing that in a couple of months I will start getting skinny and change the way I eat and I can exercise and see results! My problem is portion control so with this surgery I will get control once again! Can't wait!!!!! Good luck to you!!

Hi Skinny minnie I send you a PM last night! How are you doing with your journey? The nurse told me that they will use my first weight which makes me 40 BMI. Thanks for the hope giving me! But if I don't qualify then I will just appeal and hope for the best. Thanks!!!! :0)

I'm glad you loving it and comorbidities are improving which that's the most important reason for this surgery! What was your BMI? How much have lost?

Thank you for the kind words! I have hope and a good feeling that I will be ok, but I will be relax once they tell me 'YOUR INSURANCE APPROVED YOU' thank you!

My insurance requires a BMI of 40 or 35+ with co-morbid problems and 3 moths of weight management and I think that's all. plus I gave them a BIG list of all supplements that I have taken for the past 24 years. This doctor is very good on his notations and I think that's a plus!!
