Looking for protein bar recipes!
Have you tried any of them?

How much did your surgery cost?
I had mine done here in Australia. It was free for me. Well $3,000 upfront but then was totally refunded. I feel blessed.

WILL POWER?
Is there an addiction thread on here.

WILL POWER?
I'm reading a book called "The end to overeating", by David Kessler. He was the head of the food and drug association in the United States and really explains the science of cravings and food addiction. It's a great read.

Perth Sleevers?
I'm still not losing weight very fast but I see how well the gals from my town are doing and how fun it is for them. It is life changing. As for me....sloooow and steady but it's coming off, about one lb a week or one kg every two weeks.

I'm disappointed....
Thanks everyone. I'll try to keep my chin up.

I'm disappointed....
See! I'm looking for answers. Maybe it's splenda? There just has to be a reason. I sometimes wonder if the doctor actually did the operation or if he just made some holes and forgot to do the stuff inside like staple the stomach. I have worked just as hard to lose the lbs now as I did before the operation. There just has to be a reason.

I'm disappointed....
My doctor didn't have me lose weight before surgery. I think most of my weight loss is Water. I have lost a dress size, not really but my clothes do fit better. I'm just stumped.

I'm disappointed....
Most people lose a lot of weight the first month then slow down. I didn't even get the fun of that happening. I track every single bite through myfitnesspal. I eat about 700 cal a day and am an active person. I mean it's easy to say chin up when you're not the one who's only lost 18 lbs. I appreciate the nice thoughts but I wish I wasn't the only one doing this poorly soooo soon after surgery.

I'm disappointed....
I have been out two months and only lost 18 lbs and 1 dress size. I feel like I've failed at the one unfailable thing....having your stomach removed. I know this surgery doesn't work for everyone but I never thought I'd be that one. Just bummed.

Perth Sleevers?
You are going to love it. It will change your life. It will be hard at first but you will be so glad you did it. Who's your doctor?
-
Failure!
Dr. Dolan. I really like him. Very nonsense and straight forward but a nice guy.
-
Failure!
That another thing to bring up on my next visit to the ol' Dr. Thanks

Failure!
I'm not sure but I'm going to ask about it when I talk to my Dr. Let me know what you find out too.
-
Failure!
I do find myfitnesspal to be helpful too.

Failure!
Thanks Bec, I think I've found a good program for me to follow now, but I REALLY appreciate the offer. I tried to start a Perth group but they must all be hiding.

Failure!
Uk-rny, what causes slow weight loss in you?
-
Failure!
Two things, well three actually......I found some numbers on line that I can shoot for.... calories 600-800, carbs less than 60, Protein at least 65 and Water at least 64 ounces That's my plan for now. I just got on myfitnesspal yesterday and am finding my way around. I do think my stomach is larger than most and will talk to the Dr. Next check up about getting an ex ray. I would also like to get some hormone tests done just because I have read that that can be a reason for not losing. I guess I just thought I'd have the "honeymoon" period right after where the weight just melts off, but I went straight to the work hard to lose weight phase, lol. Thanks for all your help everyone. I'm going to get this thing figured out.

Perth Sleevers?
Are there other Perth-ers out there?

Failure!
Thanks musiclover! I really appreciate hearing from you. Some times I feel like a criminal for not having a protein count. They really are so much more relaxed here, I didn't have to fast before my surgery, and the after care was pretty lose. Anyway it's nice to hear from you

Failure!
I'm glad you posted. Australia is a lot less formal. My nutritionist was sick for both our meetings but sent me some info. We live 8 hours from "town" (perth).
