  1. Oh also bought chewable multivitamins. I'm soooooo ready!
  2. Hi buddies! I'm 1/13/14 12:30p too! Sw 296 Cw 291 Gw 170 5'8" No diet required but started yesterday - mostly high Protein and liquids... Bought sf Jello, Popsicles, broth, fugsicles, crystal lite, total lean shakes and EAS carb control... 13 days left!!!!
  3. Preop diet starts today. Ahhhhhh. Had a bunch of "last meals" this weekend. Not sure how I'm going to get thru NYE...
  4. I also saw on another thread that tricare doesn't approve lap bands - so you may want to check with your insurance company.
  5. Some pcps want their patients to lose the traditional way. You don't need a referral from him though - but it does look good for the insurance if another doctor recommends you have the surgery. The surgeon will ask if you want your PCP to be notified and sent your records. But if you really wanted, you don't have to tell your PCP anything.
  6. My surgery date is the same I just got the email with all my instructions and a clearance paper for my doctor to sign What all will u be eating for your pre op diet? I'm starting preop Monday - only 1400 calorie diet required but I'm going to do full liquids with a small plain salad daily til surgery. Also going to work out 3-4 days a week.
  7. Not sure about that - has alcohol in it? Try melatonin a couple of milligrams. It's better for you - a natural hormone.
  8. Shop around. Find something you like. Go to GNC or the grocery stores and try different things.
  9. Pb2!!!! Order from amazon. It's amazing. I use it preop....
  10. You look great. Did you work out? How much/often/type? Any advice? I weigh 290 and my goal is 170ish. I have surgery next month.
  11. A friend of mine bought some little jars of baby food. Just an idea.
  12. The hospital should give you an abd binder - if you ask for it.
  13. Abd binder basically is a large belly wrap with Velcro. It keeps everything tight like a girdle and helps splint for pain and such. I'm going to get one from the hospital and use as needed. I think it's a good idea to have one.
  14. Wow. Amazing results. So are you ladies working out? If so, what's your workout regimen? I've heard some people never working out some I'm curious. I do 30-40 mins of cardio 4x weekly and my surgery is next month. Also how are you eating? Are you doing low carb diets? I weigh 290 at 5'8-9" and would like to get to 160ish... Any help or tips would be great!!!!!
  15. Only a preop 1400 calorie diet!!! But I've been doing protein shakes already. I'm getting my blood work done shortly and meeting with anesthesiologist!!!!
  16. Just left my last preop counseling appointment and I'm waiting to get my preop blood work done!!! Aaaaaahhhhhh im excited!!! Finally less than a month away (jan 13). Only lost 5 lbs - but losing is losing nonetheless (losing in a good way :-))
  17. Morning - why are you tired? Is it bc of the diet and exercise? Are you out of your routine? I'll be going from nights to days so that should help me fight fatigue hopefully. I just spoke with fmla folks - probably will just request 6 weeks and see how I feel after 4!!!
  18. Thanks everyone. It helps a lot. I can have up to 6 weeks off but I've heard of ppl returning to work sooner. There's no such thing as light duty either. I can't imagine myself doing compressions or turning a patient with those type of incisions.
  19. Enjoy other activities with your family besides eating.
  20. I work in the ICU and I'm taking 4 weeks off. My job consists of CPR, tugging, pulling, lifting, etc. Anyone take more or less time? Trying to get a general idea. Thanks!
