  1. How awesome is that!!!!!! I am doing good but it sounds like you are doing great!!! Keep us informed! Let's take this journey together!!!
  2. I sincerely appreciate the advice. The meal plan for this stage from my NUT includes soft, juicy meats (chicken salad, egg salad, juicy lean meats, moist fish, etc.). I don't know how things are going to go from meal to meal. Last night, I had baked Swai and it went down fine. I had the exact same fish for lunch and it wasn't so good. It's all definitely a learning experience!
  3. Ok....it may not be the chicken....it's probably my swollen tummy. I'll give it a couple weeks then try the chicken again.
  4. HW: 267 SW: 245 (12/18 ) CW: 223 22lbs since surgery 40lbs total since May!!!
  5. After getting sick time after time, I now realize that I can't eat chicken! Can't imagine my life without chicken but that's the way it's gonna be! But, I am down 22lbs post-op and 40lbs overall!!!
  6. CONGRATS!!! See you on the other side soon!!!!
  7. Semply, I went through the same discomfort where anything other than saliva hurt going down and it caused me not to want to swallow anything. But it definitely gets better. I'm 2 1/2 weeks and doing much better!
  8. I pressed past it knowing that God opened this door for me. I believe that if He brings you to it....He'll bring you through it!!! When they wheeled me into the OR, I was crying tears of fear but I also told God that I trust Him!!!
  9. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Your message from God, "And again I say unto you that if thy right hand offends thee cut it off" just hit me like a TON OF BRICKS!!!!! Thank You Lord for revelation!!!!! MY GOD IS AWESOME!!!!! Thank you Sandy!!! That blessed my socks off!!! I'm 2 1/2 weeks post-op. I just wanted to know how everything is going for everyone since the original post in 2009? BLESSINGS TO YOU ALL!!!
  10. Hi all, I, too, am a believer!!! I am 2 1/2 weeks post-op. Not looking to mentor as I am still in the infancy stage but I'm always looking to meet new friends. Are you all on. MFP? If so, friend me....elainejohnson3074@gmail.com! Praying for you!!
  11. You can do it. It is definitely not going to be easy but if I did it, ANYBODY can!!! One day at a time.
  12. Elainejohnson3074@gmail.com.....send me a request on MFP!
  13. Elainejohnson3074@gmail.com.....send me a request!
  14. THIS IS BANANAS!!!!! If a person feeds an addiction, they'll eventually want more! When chewing and spitting no longer satisfies, then what?!?!?! Weight gain is inevitable!!!!
  15. Hi butterfly....HNY!!!! I was sleeved on the 18th. I've been eating soft foods since yesterday. It doesn't hurt when I swallow but it will hurt if you don't chew good and eat a little at a time. Make sure you follow your NUTs plan as many plans differ.
  16. Also....creamy soups with chunks strained or blended....can't go wrong!
  17. JUST had egg drop soup. I took in about 75% of the broth and if tiny shards of egg made it onto my spoons I looked away! It was SO GOOD!!!!
  18. CONGRATS!!!!! It will ALL be better soon. Just hang in there and take it easy.
  19. I had one on the 24th. Then, I was 7 days out. It was a nice treat but I was only able to handle about 1/2 in 2hrs. I'll certainly go again.....maybe tomorrow!
  20. DC Born, I am in the middle of my 2-week post op diet, which is a struggle as well. But hand in there....we can do this! Question...you are DC born....are you still in the same area? If so, which hospital?
  21. Ree, I was sleeved on the 18th as well. Once I made it home on the 19th, I laid in the bed until last night. I had no desire to walk or move but once I had some Tylenol, I was able to get up and take a shower. Tylenol has been very helpful with the pain. I alternate between the Tylenol and Percocet. I was able to get out a bit today with my husband. I came home and took a nap. I plan to go out for a spell again tomorrow. Not overdoing it though.
  22. Thicvick, you'll do fine! I'm not going to lie and say its easy because it isn't! But I will say you will do fine! I'm at day 3. I got up, dressed and headed out with hubby. I even made the bed! After his appointment, we're gonna run by Target and Redbox and it's back to bed for me. You have to take it easy!
  23. My dr. told me to add more protein. I had eggs with cheese, Popeyes naked tenders, low carb...high protein foods. Greek yogurt was a God-send!!!
