BCBS FEDERAL
I don't have bcbs, my insurance requires people to lose 10% of their total weight before approving but I don't hear that often about others. I'm sure you will be ok.

Mother @*#er!
I'd ask her, "what if I died from obesity related issues?" What if... What if... So sorry you are having to deal with that. This is such an emotional process it's like uh do you really think that I haven't already thought of that!? Ugh you will do great!

GASTRIC SLEEVE OR GASTRIC BYPASS... MIXED EMOTIONS
I was considering the sleeve or rny and through my research I also decided on the bypass. I only know one person personally who had a sleeve to rny revision (my cousin). It's just not for me... I strongly believe any of them will work if you work em' and what's right for me may not be right for you. I do hear a lot about the reflux problems so if you already have heartburn that would really put me off. Goodluck on whatever you decide.

Marijuana
I can agree to disagree I just can't see not legalizing it because it MAY be harmful to others, through my research I find the benefit outweigh the risks. I don't know what I would have done during radiation treatments not having it, I was very sick without it. Everything and anything may be harmful to others. Stress and driving while tired is harmful. I just don't see how we can ban something that has been proven to have medicinal benefits where as things like alcohol and tobacco do not but they are legal and socially acceptable. We can't guarantee people won't drink and drive, text and drive, or drive tired, or under the influence of prescription medication (all extremely dangerous). all we can do is encourage people not to and educate them on making the right decision and enforce the laws that come with those rights.

Help!
Don't panic I'm sure it is just your body adjusting to your new food stage. Remember in order to gain a true pound you have to consume 3500 excess calories... Take a deep breath let your body heal and adjust. also, as fun as it is to see the pounds melt away, try not to weigh every day or you will drive yourself nuts!!! I can fluctuate 3lb from morning to evening in any given day because of water retention and undigested food. Be patient with yourself, hide the scale :-p

Marijuana
The real bad guys, are pharmaceutical companies.

Marijuana
I'm sure it's a hell of a lot better for my body then whatever prescription drugs you are putting in yours for your bipolar disorder. A lot healthier then the chemicals in the fat of animal meat people are consuming, a lot healthier than caffeine and cigarettes.. In fact if you ingest marijuana there is really no harmful affects to you or those around you. Don't worry I don't have kids and am certainly not dumb enough to smoke around them nor do I smoke around people who don't partake, thats simply just rude. On another note sometimes altering a persons state of mind is in there best interest and others around them. Id much rather be around a down to earth mellow person whose biggest problem is giggling then someone who is hostile and harmful to themselves and others. Did you know that marijuana greatly improves the quality of life for many people? Did you know how good it is for the environment and how much oxygen a marijuana plant produces? Do you realize the benefits of hemp? Did you know that if we were legally able to extract the CBs from plants it would greatly help people with cancer or people who suffer from seizures? And do you have any idea how much the legalization will help this country get out of debt!?

Marijuana
I'm pre op still but I quit for now because I get mega munchies that I haven't been able to curb so I'll try it after surgery sometime again and see how my munchies are then and if I can control them. Right now it's just not worth it lol

Craving junk food?
Sit in front of a mirror and watch yourself eat it... I bet you won't, or at least not as much as you normally would. You might even cry, pretty emotional stuff.

silastic ring
Also known as a fobi ring or fobi pouch
-
silastic ring
From what I read it is supposed to prevent your pouch from stretching over the years.it is not adjustable and comes in different sizes. I've read that it has similar complications to the band however, such as erosion and several people who have had it 5-12 years now experience vomiting from even a sip of water, have developed ulcers around their rings. Again this is just what I have read browsing the interweb. It is believed that weight loss may be greater with this than with bypass alone.

Gastric Bypass Vegan
I am unaware of any support groups if you find one let me know! I mostly use my phone so I don't browse the web a lot.

Gastric Bypass Vegan
I am a vegetarian as well and am pre op, I heave considered veganism as well but since we need a lot of protein early on I will probably wait until 6 months post op as I get a substantial amount of protein from dairy currently.

I'm starting to give up on searching just need some answers
I am pre op and I am 23 and was also undecided between the sleeve and bypass. I decided on the bypass and will be having it next month to me the risks of being obese outweigh the risks of having surgery. God forbid something ever happened to me... At least I died tryin'. I'm confident nothing will but there was a point where I was thinking some of the things you are and that was my mentality. I'm taking a stand for my life, my family, my health.

told I can't be on a vegetarian diet.
I was lucky that my nut and dr encourage a plant based diet. I read "The food Revolution" and it absolutely changed my life. I started going to therapy two years ago for all my emotional issues that played a large roll in my becoming obese. So as far as emotionally and mentally I feel I am as ready as I can be. I've done a lot of reflecting and self discovery but this particular book was just what I needed to change my eating habits and strive for a healthy wholesome life. I encourage people to read it because it is full of a lot of information from credible sources and a glimpse into someone else's journey with similar aspirations to those who are wanting to be more aware, Eco friendly, and healthy.

March 2014 Surgery!
I get my date in 13 days when I see my surgeon but I want to know now!!

told I can't be on a vegetarian diet.
I can see it being hard if you are vegan but not vegetarian. Unless you are a "junk food" vegetarian and don't know how to prepare high protein meals or if you are a picky eater.
