Just happened to check my email and found this link from Lapband talk. I just kept on at him about it. At the pyschologist's (who did my evaluation) request, both of us had to attend an information seminar. He went with me and heard the doctors talking about he band and all the benefits that I would get from it. Once he heard it from them, he was my biggest supporter. It has been over 3 years now. I am down to 164 lbs. and I feel great. He on the other hand has put a lot of weight back on in the past year. He hasn't said anything about getting the surgery for himself though. I too tried every diet out there. My husband kept telling me it was all in my head. But it is very hard for someone who had been overweight for so long to keep the weight off. I would loose 50 to 70 lbs. only to put it back on plus more. The band has been amazing for me. Good luck to you on your convincing. Keep talking to him about it and see if you can get him to attend a support group meeting or an information seminar with you. I also suffered with reflux at night following a fill. (The fill was only .5 cc). I could not sleep and found myself coughing and spitting up all night. I ended up back at the doctor's office where he removed only a quarter of the cc he previously put in. What a difference it made! Check with your doctor about an unfill, if only a tiny amount, makes a difference!

I've lost 115 pounds from my heaviest weight.

I stepped on the scales yesterday morning and they read 258 lbs! 80 pounds gone...yay!!!:biggrin2: Last night I walked in my graduation ceremony from college. I now have my associates degree...yay!!!:scared2: This band is wonderful and I feel wonderful!

I have watched Guiding Light since I was a kid! Every other thing in the world has been brought up on this show. It's about time that they did something on weight loss. I think Ashley is beautiful the way she is, I can't wait to see her transformation!

I bought a pair of Apple Bottoms at TJMaxx for $25.00! What a deal. I also got on Ebay and found them. Paid about $29.00 on Ebay. My kids say I am going through a middle age crisis. I also bought the boots with the fur, I love my Uggs! This is also my ringtone, drives my kids CRAZY!! In all seriousness, the jeans wear great! I love them.

I too was called Candy Cain. Even though my name is Sandy, all my buddies called me Candy...and Cain was the maiden name.

My hiatial hernia was also repaired during surgery. I haven't had reflux or heartburn since!

I had my first fill today. I now have 1cc in my 10cc band. He told me that if I feel that I don't have enough restriction to call for another fill next week. Here I was thinking that I already had some in there from surgery, because I have felt the restriction since surgery! Today hasn't been all that bad. Just a little pain above the port site, I guess from the manipulation of trying to find the port.

Hey Ya'll, I'm 44, been married for 23 years. I have two boys, ages 21 and 15. I was banded on December 4th, 2007 in Gainesville, GA by Dr. Robert Richard. I have lost 16 lbs. since surgery and a total of 40lbs since August 4th. Good luck to all you forty somethings!

Hi, I am from Dahlonega and I used Dr. Robert Richard in Gainesville. He is in with Dr. Charles Proctor. They do business as Obesity Solutions. I am just over a month from surgery and my experiences with them so far has been wonderful! I am very pleased with my choice of doctors.

I too have my eye on a black bag by Kathy Van Zeeland. The Crown Princess Black Belted Shopper. Ross had it for $37.00! I hope it's still there tomorrow when I go! I usually carry a small bag. I have a Liz Claiborne that I really like, but if I carry anything besides my wallet it's full.

I was banded on 12/4/07 and haven't had reflux since. I suffered daily with heartburn. I would get it with everything I ate, including water! During the surgery the surgeon repaired my hiatial hernia. So happy to be free of the reflux, heartburn and nexium!
