I can't wait . But what do I need for the hospital ? Any suggestions ? My doc said I would be there for 3 days .

Hi I am Lindsey and I am getting sleeved on the 20th and I am so scared an nervous also . I have faith in Jesus Christ an I am simply going to ask him to calm my nerves an scaredness so mabey u can do the same an it will help . Good luck to you .

Thanks guys . I knew I could get good support from y'all . I agree I thinking she doesn't have the whole story . There is risk s with everything . I am going to do this for myself And my kids they need me for a long time . I suffer from high Bp an I think it's a good idea to have VSG .

Ok girls an guys I am 3 days into my high protein pre-op diet an doing great ,my surgery is scheduled for feb 20th.I have lost 2lbs . I have a friend that is a RN an she is worried there was a woman that was admitted to the hospital that she works at that had VSG surgery an has lost 80lbs and is not doing good she has been there about a month an she said that she is about to die due to complications . Apparently she is not getting enough food . What do y'all think , ? What do I need to think about this ? I am kinda scared.

That's awesome! I'm still pre-op and have a ways to go. I'm likely to be a Late June or July sleever. What did you have to do to get approved? To begin with I went to my seminar in August and started getting weight checks an Bp checks that lasted 6 months because that is what my ins co requires and I had some blood work done then I met my surgeon to talk about the surgery process and had a psych eval. It took since august of 13 until now January 22 of 14 . But I think in the end all the hard work so far is gonna pay off:).

I was approved today my surgery is gonna be done on Febuary 20 at 6am at North Florida Regional in Gainesville Fl . Surgeon performing it is Dr Timothy Hipp. So excited an nervously scared all at the same time . But it's time for a change . My CW-235lbs... I hope god stands by me on that day....In which I know he will of course (I am a true believer ) I need all the help an support I can get . My family members are not for it only my Husband is . I have avmed of state of Florida an I have jumped all my hurdles for the last six months an saw my dr every month an got all bloodwork done,psych eval etc... Y'all wish me luck I am waiting on my phone call I hope I have a good weight loss story to tell like y'all.

My mom couldn't get the first approval and she had Avmed but it was a different contract they told her it didn't cover. But I have already got my first approval an I have did 6 months of dr visits,psyc eval an i have high BP that they have treated me for since 2004 . Did u do the 6 months of dr visits an stuff , did u have the HMO or PPO. Sorry I am asking all this . I am just trying to see if it's been worth it at all.

Anyone out there with Avmed from Florida that was approved for gastric sleeve if so how long did it take???

I am 31yrs old I am 5'3 CW/224lbs.I have done all the requirements that State of Florida Avmed Requires (6 long months ugh) I am hopefully gonna get my final approval soon . I am really excited . I have been reading some posts on here an there is some really helpful people out there. I hope y'all can remember I am new .
