  3. I'm down 50 lbs since 8/31 - just hit onderland! best non scale victory was today - walked into nordstrom's for a dress for a gala we are attending on saturday and shopped in the regular sized section and had OPTIONS for the first time in 15 years. it wasn't a matter of what fit and covered me but a matter of what i loved the most!!
  4. I'm one month out and my daily eating looks like this: 2-3 light muscle milks @ 20g Protein each 1 Greek yogurt (breakfast) 1 small banana or some turkey and cheese (lunch) 2-4 ounces of family dinner, eating protein first My plan doesn't involve limiting carbs but as I start tolerating more foods, I'll cut out the banana and scale back on the yogurt.
  5. I was sleeved on 8/31 and today, I was cleared to eat anything - just to add things one at a time to see how I tolerate different foods. For lunch I had an egg and a half a piece of toast - oh my gosh that toast was divine! I'm still working on slowing down, what a HARD habit to break. Anyone else struggling with that? .
  6. i'm on soft foods as of today! one week of this and then i can eat anything. i'm down 30.2 lbs since surgery day but i think i'm stalling as i've only lost a few ounces in the last 4-5 days. my energy came back last week. i haven't felt this good in YEARS. i took the kids on a two hour hike, chased them on the sand (which is a WORKOUT), played basketball with them the other night. i don't even feel out of breath and i'm sleeping so well on the nights that i do that. i'm back to work tonight (i'm a photographer) and i can't wait!
  7. Does salmon typically go down well? I'm craving grilled salmon with salt and pepper! It's on my plan but I don't want an adverse reaction to ruin it for me
  8. I'm 2.5 weeks out and I've mindlessly grabbed both a tortilla chip and a wheat thin. That wheat thin was DELICIOUS. Sigh
  9. @@stacyg1 you lost 130 pounds by working hard, following your plan and treating your body well. Pretty sure the scale didn't do much. ???? Hope that didn't come across snarky!
  10. this evening, i had some tomato soup (on my plan) and ohhhhhh my gosh am i miserable. i feel like i got punched in the stomach. i think i may have eaten too fast??
  11. Do protein drinks count towards your fluids intake?
  12. I really like the chocolate Muscle Milk. Easy to drink and doesn't taste chemical-y. Also, the O Only Protein vanilla is great - I mix it with 6 oz. cranberry juice and it tastes great. Both of these are available at target!
  13. Hi! I was sleeved on 8/31, too. I'm feeling good, not much pain but I am just SO exhausted. I'm getting about 50 grams of Protein a day plus all of my fluids. I have no issues drinking - can swallow almost as well as pre surgery. I came home on puréeds but mostly just eat soup and Greek yogurt. I feel hungry 5-6 times a day and eat accordingly but haven't taken more than 2-3 tiny bits of anything. Still defending on Protein drinks for energy. I'm down 15.3 lbs since surgery morning. I tried my long-too-small wedding rings on today and they slid right on!! My first NSV
  14. For scrambled eggs - do you actually purée them after you cook them or are they soft enough as-is to eat during the purée stage?
  15. Hi! I was sleeved on 8/31, so 6 days out. So ready to get some energy back! How can I join the Facebook group?
  16. I'm on day 4 - I was sleeved on Monday and home on Tuesday. I'm having general soreness and pain after drinking water but the OxyContin helps a great deal. Wondering how long you guys kept taking it before tapering off?
  17. Hi all, I'm scheduled for surgery Monday morning (8/31) and I woke up today feeling miserable. Sore throat, cough, achy and tired. Wondering if I should call the nurse today or give this a day or two to clear. I do not want to risk surgery if there's any chance of infection in my body but what's the deal if it's just a virus??
  18. My surgery is later this month but at the class this past week, we were told that we'd go home to puréed foods. So fluids for 2 days, purée for 3 weeks, then well chewed solids as we can tolerate them. She did say it would likely be a few months before we could handle beef or chicke.
  19. My surgery isn't for another few weeks but I find that when I'm asked a personal question that I don't care to answer, it's SUPER easy to very quickly say "oh thank you and WOW i love your hair (earrings, skirt, lipstick color, etc). so, what are you up to this weekend?" Even the nosiest of people would much rather talk about themselves than about you
