  1. Fiddle... Have you looked into Alexander technique? I studied it in college and helped a lot with my spine issues. It's quite difficult to find certified instructors but there are several books worth reading if interested.
  2. Continued prayers for you Deez! Hang in there!
  3. Anyone want to be Fitness Pal buddies? Feel free to add me! xmarycontraryx or email maryallisondixon@gmail.com
  4. It is 2014. Never again will I step on the scale and see the 310s, 300s, 290s, 280s or 270s!!! 268.5 today and I am sooooo happy I could do cartwheels!!!!!!
  5. Finally cleared to exercise and so excited! It's been years since I've been active so I'm going to start off a little slow here and see if I can update and increase my goal once I get started. For now I'm pledging 45 miles on the treadmill walking for January.
  6. Happy New Year my beautiful, supportive and hard-working December sleevers!!! The world is a better place with all of you in it! I look forward to the months ahead and sharing our successes and hurdles together. May 2014 bring a world of possibilities to us all. God bless and be safe tonight!!!
  7. I'm trying to figure out a calorie count as well as number of fats, Protein, sugars and carbs that works best for me. Any suggestions? I'm post-op 29 days and will be cleared for all foods in five days. Any help is appreciated. Happy New Year!!!
  8. Sending good thoughts and loving prayers to our Sleevers tomorrow and Tuesday! Can't wait to see you on the loser's bench!!!
  9. HW: 317 CW: 273 Sorry, can't remember my surgery weight. I think I recorded it here week one. Happy New Year Losers!!!
  10. You are all so inspiring!!! I'm 26 days out today and am going to get my gym membership in a few hours. I hope there's a January fitness challenge that I can join!!!
  11. I am obsessed with these dips! The roasted red pepper is my favorite. I've used it instead of sour cream with black Beans and it's delicious! The French onion is also a great dip for veggies!
  12. I was given decaf coffee on my second day in the hospital. In fact, I drink a cup of decaf every morning. Caffeinated coffee is strictly off limits as caffeine stimulates appetite. I'd call your NUT, my cup of decaf coffee in the morning is the only sense of normality I have now on the post-op restricted diet.
  13. That's the plan, I'm just hoping they're open. I just found it odd that on all of the guidelines I've been given, seafood has not been addressed.
  14. I've been cleared for baked fish this week and have clearance for meat, pork and chicken next week. What I can't seem to find it is when I'm cleared for seafood. My aunt arrives tonight from Seattle with fresh crab, salmon and cod and I would love to have some Dungeness crab fresh from the Atlantic!
  15. Quick question sleevers... Do you have any diet instructions for seafood? I'm cleared for baked fish this week and meat, pork and chicken next week. Problem is, I don't see anything on my diet plan for seafood such as crab and lobster. Anyone else have specific instructions for seafood? Thanks!!!
  16. Merry Christmas my fellow December Sleevers!!! May your day be merry and bright!! xxxooo
  17. Thought I'd share what I saw on Dr. Oz today. He recommended the Fage plain Greek yogurt and said it had 20g of protein. Anyone who's having trouble with the protein shakes, this sounds like an awesome replacement. I haven't tried it myself but will definitely stock up on my next shopping trip!
  18. Awesome job everyone!!! So proud of us!!! My scale needs a new battery so I haven't weighed myself since last week but am so happy with my decision! HW: 317 CW: 273 (can't remember SW)
  19. I'm glad you posted this. I had surgery Dec. 2nd and am still having pain around my incisions, even while being sedentary. I considered contacting my surgeon but feel better after reading similar situations.
  20. Oh Jess, I feel your pain! I haven't experienced any nausea until last night taking my multi-vitamins. Mine aren't chewable so I think I drank too much too fast but I really felt like I was going to choke and vomit at the same time (if that's possible.) LESSON LEARNED!!!
  21. Thank you proudgranny. I believe you have summed things up perfectly and I appreciate your calming words of wisdom. I know I deserved a slap on the hand for the pizza and boy is my lesson learned!!! It's a tough crowd here and perhaps my sensitive nature got the best of me. My friends have always told me I wear my heart on my sleeve and in doing that, I'm often hurt by harsh words even if they are meant to help. Sometimes the intent of a post is lost when judgement is passed. To those who voiced their opinion, thank you. The pizza was a slip-up and I am 100% back on track since it happened Friday. New close this out, I'd like to end on a very happy note with some pictures I took today. The first photo was taken five weeks ago at my highest, 317. Today I weigh 283 and was just tickled pink by my progress. I hadn't noticed a difference in myself until I put on that same sweater and noticed how differently it felt and looked. God bless you all. Have a lovely night!
  22. So glad to hear you're feeling better Atlanta!
