I went to a GNC store and bought a protein powder called "Super Sport Cellucor" it has 30 grams of protein per serving and I mix it with "Silk Almond milk" 4 oz. really fills me up, but drink it slow.

Nurse_B I went out yesterday for the first time, and there were so many good smells ... I now understand what head hunger is all about... I just keep thinking to myself how lucky I am to have this opportunity to lose weight faster and perhaps easier than all the other things I have tried...I TOO LOVE MEXICAN food....LOL> But ....Its only a min. in your mouth and being thinner is going to taste better than any Mexican food we eat! . Gosh ...I sure did not have that problem of feeling weak. My diet has consisted of Swansons chicken broth, sugar free Jello, and sugar free popcycles. Lots of sips of water and I put crystal light in it sometimes. You might want to give your Dr. a call and let him know how you are feeling... I started my Protein Drink today... NOW that gave me a real full feeling. And honestly, I am feeling so excited about getting thinner and positive thoughts about this process its kinda hard for me feel low....call your Dr. MissTrish Good luck ...keep me posted on how you are doing I hope I was of some help.

Seriously.... 20 grand is worth my life. I tooo have a friend that went to Mexico and had great results. Still one can pay 20 grand and have problems too....I just felt easier about doing it in the states. I flew from Oregon to have Surgery in Miami for a couple of reasons. Dr. Moises Jacobs is highly recommended and his staff was wonderful ....He himself is more personable than most people you would ever meet. He teaches other Doctors how the procedure works... Second.... My Bestee lives here and I thought that a couple weeks away from snow and freezing weather in Oregon was a great place to hear! I too got real confused about the lower prices I was seeing.... For me.... The bottom line was to be with a Doctor that I felt the best with. Ps. Susysleever, I already have a car. But I understand your thoughts. Good luck

Thank you for your replies.... I went ahead with Dr.Jacobs in Miami and I couldn't be any happier. I flew in on Sunday evening, had tests all day on Monday, Tuesday I got sleeved. I am 4 days out now and so excited for this journey. I feel better and better everyday, and looking forward to a healthier and thinner me... He was WONDERFUL and a very educated Doctor.... I would also like to thank the people on this site for all the education I have gotten from reading things on this site.....I have spent hours on here and it has helped me soooo much.... Again I say Thanks!

I did not have to go on any kind of diet before surgery or lose any weight. But I was a cash pay. Had surgery on Dec.3 and all is going well.

I felt a little sore but not really that bad. I slept a lot the first night. I think the worst part for me was how dry my mouth was. My tongue felt like a piece of sandpaper in my mouth...LOL. I just kept sipping on Water ,eating ice cubes, a little mouth spray and a few bites of Jello seem to help. Everyday gets so much better I am about 4 days out now. I even went out shopping today To the GNC store ....I smelled lots of good smelling food out there but all I could do was keep thinking about how great I am going to feel at my daughters wedding June 3 in Maui! And how good it feels knowing that my clothes are going to get loser instead of tighter!!!! This operation is giving me a chance of a life I have always dreamed of...NO more Lane Bryant!!!!... Gosh.... I feel your pain. I had surgery on Tuesday the Dec. 3rd and today was my first day out and about....The food smells were everywhere. And I totally understand what owoldO is talking about here.... And it makes since. My thoughts were that I am soooo excited to be on this journey and know that I will feel good and look good...I just put the smells out of my mind stood tall (well 5'4) LOL... And came home and looked at all the people that have made such great changes in there lives. You have lost 31 pounds in 12 days Hurray for you!!! food is only in our mouths for a moment....Feeling thin will last all day long!!! Keep up the good work....

Yay...... I have been SLEEVED! I had surgery on Tuesday Dec. 2nd. All is well and I am very excited for this new journey.... And I feel very blessed to have this opportunity to improve my life. I had a wonderful Dr. in Miami Fl. His name is Dr. Moises Jacobs ....Good luck to everyone

I just had surgery 3 days ago...Feeling great and I just wanted to say what a great doctor I had....Dr. Moises Jacobs is a wonderful guy. Looking to this journey with positives thoughts....

Help Help Help.... I have been on here trying to figure out a Dr. I should use in the Ft. Lauderdale area... I have a surgery date set for Dec. 4th but the more I have read about what other people have self paid I think I am being taken advantage of ... At first the price 20 grand, now its up to 23. And they are saying it is 16,000. just for one night in the hospital. I am ready to bail out... But I really want surgery. Seems most people are paying around 12 grand ...Please give me some names of GOOD doctors in the Ft. lauderdale area....PLEASE!!! HELP HELP HELP!

Thank you all for your replies I just can't see paying 16 thousand to the hospital for one night stay. Sounded a bit crazy to me ...Now I know it is! The Dr. was about 4 thousand and the rest was for tests...Hummmm...

Can any one please tell me what the going price for Gastric sleeve surgery is in the states??? I am self pay and I have heard 10 thousand to 25 thousand... I am having surgery in Florida for about 23 thousand. Is that about right or am I being HAD???? Help Help!

I am like you Mel1071...No fuss I have been reading all that other people have done and was kinda worrying me. I am Flying from Oregon on Dec. 1st Doing tests on the 2nd and 3rd and hopefully everything goes right and I will have surgery on Dec. 4th. I am also self pay... Can anybody give me info. on what it is costing them for self pay??? I have done lots of research and I am not going into all of this blind...But I have seen a lot lower prices than I am getting...Hummm.... wondering???
