JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
I was sleeved 7/24 and only down 36 pounds. Stalled for the longest time after week 2! Scale finally started moving on a more regular basis at the beginning of this month. I'm hoping it keeps moving.

Sugar addict and Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) surgery?
I'm 2 months out and have no issues with sugar. I allow myself to have a small amount when I want it. I'm ok with having it because the old me would have been a handful or more! I had my first small piece of cake this week and it didn't taste as good to me as it used too. I can say I don't crave as much sugar as I used to, but then again I don't eat nearly as much of anything like I did in the past.

Protein bars
I like these too. Tried a couple different Quest bars and didn't like them. I couldn't handle the texture.

Halloween challenge
Starting weight 267. Goal weight 250. I'm a slow loser so that might be aggressive but I have to think this stall will break sometime! Thanks for organizing this.

Slow weight loss in the beginning... Is this normal?
I'm having the same kind of slow weight loss. Was sleeved 7/24 and down 20 from date of surgery, 27 overall. Lost 7 pounds on my crash diet days before surgery. I dropped most of my weight the first week. Since then it's been stall, lose a pound, stall, lose a pound...repeat. Very frustrating. I hit my Protein and Water goal daily. Was getting between 650 and 800 calories a day and also working out 3 to 4 times a week and still stalling. Oh, and the one day I had gained 2 pounds! Yesterday I upped my calories to almost 900 and was down a pound this morning. Was this the answer or would I have lost even more if I didn't up the calories? We'll never know. Trying the more calories for the rest of the week and we'll see what happens. If I gain, it won't be the first time.

Feeling discoraged july sleever
Glad I'm not alone, which you feel like when other people have dropped 40 pounds or more and they drop weight daily! I was sleeved 7/24 and down 20 since surgery. Feel like I'm losing at a snails pace, lol. HW 295, dropped 7 in the week before surgery. Sleeved at 288 and 268 now. Been holding at the 268 since Sunday so it appears I'm in another stall. Think I need to take the advice of hiding the scale.

268 this morning. Unless a miracle happens this week, I'm not going to hit my goal of 260.

Sleep apnea and sleeve surgery
I took my Cpap to the hospital and tried to use it. Fell asleep with it on but nurses woke me up every 2 hours for something. After trying to go back to sleep twice I took it off and stayed up. Thankfully I was released next day by 10am. Have been using it every night since I came home without any issues. Hopefully you will be able to get more sleep in the hospital then I did.

Drain or no drain?
My surgeon only uses drains for bypass, none for sleeves. Was released from hospital next day.

JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
Just curios how many calories are everyone eating daily. I've been stalled for 10 days now. Surgery 7/24, getting 500-700 calories daily. Hitting protein and water goal daily.

Going back to work
Exactly the same for me. I felt ready to go back within a week, but had to wait for post-op appt. to be released back to work.

JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
I started increasing my calories yesterday because my scale was stuck for 5 days. This morning I was down a pound. Not sure if it was the increase of calories, but I'm going to try keeping my calories up through the weekend. I keep saying I'm going to stay away from the scale but it's so hard! And who would have thought it would be so difficult to get more calories in a day. Didn't have that issue pre-op

Confession time - soda
I was one that had 2 cans of coke zero every morning at work for the caffeine. Thought not having it would be tough, how would I get through the day since I can't stand coffee. Gave it up three weeks before surgery and I don't miss it a bit. I actually feel like I have more energy through the day now.

Ditching the protein shakes
Thanks for the replies. I'm only a little over a week out and hoping someday i will get to the point where shakes are not needed. I know that is far away for me! I really can't stand the shakes, they make me gag. Keep my fingers crossed that the protein bars sit better with me when I get to the stage that I can start having them.

Ditching the protein shakes
Hello all. I was wondering how many weeks everyone was when you could finally eat enough to get your required protein in without shakes? Thanks!
