  1. So far I been released by everyone but my NUT. I have a new appointment with her and the PA (again) May 15th. Was feeling a little frustrated but I'm doing okay now Im curious if anyone remembers having a 2nd appointment with PA and what was done at that appointment? They called me got set up appointment with her which was unexpected.
  2. I know this is an old post but this is exactly how I'm feeling right now and I'm not even close to surgry date I don't even have a surgry date yet Lol I was the kid who jumped out of the dentist chair and ran out the front door with thier mom dentist and nurses chasing behind. I'm ready for this but dang I wish I could control my anxiety better!
  3. Hi necol just wondering how you are doing now? Hope all is well.
  4. From what I was told it can be anywhere from a week to 30 days. It really depends on your insurence. I have seen people on here say they call their insurence after 7 days and ask them if they have an update on the appeal and they will tell you.
  5. I understand about the falling off the wagon thing. I had something similar happen when I was on a different weight loss journey a few years ago. The hardest part is starting over. Important thing is we get back up and keep trying!!!
  6. I hate snow! Good luck with your appointments this week! Let us know how that went. I'm curious what they will do in PT ?
  7. You are a little ahead of me probably as I just started in Feb but I got a lot done by then. I'm 35 years old 5'3 and weigh 268 lbs. I had the first appointment with PA and had my evaluation and then got all my lab work done the ekg chest x ray blood work urine and stool sample?! Also I went to the nutrition classes. Next, I go to my first support group and then I have my last 3 requirements which is PT, meeting with nutritionist and the therapist again then I'm done.. I think. All appointments finished by the end of March. I am excited but I'm also very nervous. I will be using BCBS insurence.
  8. A lot of great advice im pre op and so I'm writing all this down in my notebook like there's no tommarrow. When u first read about the non flavored protine powder I thought to myself who does that?! I would want chocolate and vanilla and all that sweet goodness.. it's so hard to wrap my head around how things might be post op. I'm a bit nervous too. Sunny that sounds frusterating. I hope you find what works for you.
  9. I would tell your doctor who she works for what she said.
  10. They said at our weight it takes around 30-40 lbs for others to notice I had weight loss once before and I found that to be true as well! We can feel it first before anyone can see it. I definitely felt lighter in my walk even getting out of the tub was way easier! Imagen a gallon of milk I think is about 5 lbs so u just dropped 8 gallons of milk !!! awesome feeling isn't it? Say*
  11. I have heard many times bcbs almost always denied it first time as they want extra weight loss documentation so I suggest you talk with your wls people and they will guide you on what to do next. The woman who is responsible for insurence stuff for wls at my office told me they usually accept it after u appeal once. It's a slightly longer road but it will happen. Keep going!!
  12. I'm 35 and I'm just starting as well. I had the regular initial appointment meeting the physician assistant and a social worker. I got the nutrition classes out of the way and I got PT and and dietitian appointment on March 17th. March 3rd im going to the support group that is required. This week I will have my labs done hopefully before Friday. Then They want me to have my yearly cervical exam because I haven't done that in a year. I'm by Springfield Illinois. I go between being really excited and then really nervous. Back and forth a lot. Meh.

  17. Last winter i started "working out" i find that the hardest part is the begining getting myself motivated but I pushed myself starting with JJane fondas work out the newest one for old people LOL it was more like a "walk it out " type video but it helped get me feeling good. Next thing i knew i was outside walking 2 miles being outside made me feel even better i walked for 3 months i got up to 5 miles a day 5 days a week i never felt better i started watching what i ate counting calories. i lost 35 lbs but then my abusive ex started popping up out of no where threatening to take me to court for full custody of my teenagers. i fell into a depression and everything all those i feel good feelings went right out the window. gained everything back and then some. started binging and then hating myself for it. all of that for nothing because he never did take me to court. i mean this is a pattern im starting to see in myself. i fall apart at moments like these. i feel like grasping at straws im at my highest weight ever right now and i really want to better myself in every way possible. my father is type 2 diabetes has every health issue known to man had cancer twice a stroke and 2 anerysums (spell?) found by sheer luck. im getting older im starting to come out of my denial with my food addictions. im begining to feel like therapy and getting sleeved are my last options.

  20. Thank you Blade I think that does help me feel better knowing u can still have complex carbs (fruits and more range of veggies) Atkins didnt allow hardly any fruit except berries and a few veggies it was VERY restrictive. I can work with something that at least allows more range of fruits and veggies!
  21. Ive done Atkins and I did pretty good on that lost 60 lbs in abt 5 months. All cravings were gone. Then Thanksgiving came I didnt think id lose control but all hell broke loose. In your opinion how would WLS help me?
