  1. Has anyone ever used vocational rehabilitation to pay for surgery. I am self pay and unable to get financing and my bariatric center suggested this program to look into. I am already employed and nervous I will say the wrong thing when I call as this is my last hope and will be devastated if I can't get help. Hoping someone can give me some info.

  10. I am self pay hoping to have surgery in February if all goes well with financing. My insurance has the dreaded exclusion. I keep having the same argument with myself daily that I should be able todo this on my own and that 16 thousand dollars is a lot of money to pay out of pocket. I am in constant debate with this decision. If my insurance covered it...it would be a no brainer to absolutely have wls. I need the surgery I am a 38 year old mother of 3 fantastic boys and what to be around for a very long time. As I am already starting to have high cholesterol and I know many more thing to follow if I don't get this weight off (286 lbs). Please help put this in perspective for me.
  11. Thanks guys! I really needed to hear all the good this you all have to say. It help more than you know!
  12. So I am just started my gastric sleeve journey. I am 38 years old with three fantastic little boys. I have been to the information session and in the process of seeing a cardiologist, PC, and getting a EGD. I am going thru georgetown bariatric with Dr. Derek Weiss in georgetown, ky. I am self pay. Stupid insurance has a wls exclusion. The price of surgery is around 16,000. I have worried about paying this much but have come to term that it's a small price to pay for my health. I also worry about the surgery it's self and complication. I love this site but it can also scare the crap out of you! I know that I have todo this to get heathy for myself and family. My question is has anyone used georgetown bariatrics or Dr Weiss that can give me feedback. I am such a worry wart I think is the waiting that makes me crazy!
