  1. Thx! I'm so impatient, I eat way too fast and this is my biggest downfall. I am one month post op tomorrow and on pureeds.
  2. We tigers are pretty easy friends to be made
  3. Yep guilty, I'm a Mizzou girl we may be arch enemies for college sports, but we will always be sleeve sisters
  4. Thx ladies, I'm a strong believer in counseling, so I start my counseling journey tomorrow
  5. Thank you for your honesty. The emotional part is exactly why I am going to counseling. I want to be successful with the sleeve and I know I gave some body image issues to deal with
  6. Just curious, I'm terrified of stretching my sleeve?
  7. You could try spaghetti squash to replace pasta
  8. I start counseling tomorrow and I'm excited and nervous about it. Just curious if anyone else sought out counseling post sleeve? If so, did you find it helpful?
  9. I understand. I dropped 40 lbs since surgery and went clothes shopping yesterday (it was too soon) and found that my size 20 Lane Bryant pants are fitting better but that's it so far. I can't wait to say goodbye to Lane Bryant once and for all
  10. Wags, well I'm now in Missouri, so KU is the arch enemy to Mizzou (my grad school:)
  11. Wags, Who do you root for, for March Madness? I went to the University of Kentucky, was there when Pitino was there, basketball is a religion in that state, so I'm a Kentucky girl at heart
  12. Wags, WOW good for you, you aren't even at the year mark, that's encouraging to this newbie what have you done to lose? How many calories a day are you eating? Do you still focus on protein? I was very fortunate my body responded well to the full liquids following surgery, so I stayed on them for a week longer, hoping to lose more weight but instead I stalled so waiting for this stall to end. I would be thrilled to get to 150 (what I weighed on my wedding day 13yrs ago)
  13. Bufflehead Good for you, it's sounds like you are doing fantastic!! Keep up the good work!
  14. Sarahjane, I weighed 135 when I was 19 (I'm 39 now) and my PCP says its a good landing point. I will get out of the 200s on this journey. I'm currently at 274 and on a stall
  15. Dairy fairy, I'm heading back to the gym on Monday and will ride the recumbent bike for about an hour. I'm going to try to burn 500 calories between the bike, eliptical & walking. What does op mean?
  16. Joy, I'm close to 1000 calories a day, sleeved 3 wks ago and in week 2 of the dreaded stall. It's definately a test in patience (something I suck at) but I trust eventually the weight will start moving in the right directionagain. Hang in there, we've got this
  17. I ask bc my surgeon really didn't give me a goal number. She just said I would get to 225 with little effort. My primary are doc wants me to land in the 130s. I'm 5'6 and started at 314. I was sleeved on 2-3 and my goal is 137. How realistic is it for me to get to 137? I am cleared to start cardio on Monday (can't wait). Plz tell me what you have done to lose the weight??
  18. Bran muffin, really? My overly anal surgeon is afraid that if I accidentally swallow gum it could plug the stomach opening. Mind you, I'm 39 yrs old and haven't swallowed gum since I was 4. I'm missing my gum
  19. Bufflehead, When we're you sleeved and how is your weight loss going? I hate my surgeon & her staff, but that's another post I think that's wise, for the nerves etc and to feel restriction properly, I'm still struggling to understand my own restriction, hoping it gets easier
  20. Is anyone else restricted from chewing gum?? Will I be restricted forever??
  21. I doubt that, I just have really been focusing on the Protein bc prior to that I was hungry all the time, now I feel satisfied
