That's cool! Different drs different ways of doing things! Hah. I'll def have to check out the Atkins shakes. Thanks!

Louisville??
Oh really. I wander why some make you do the overnight stay and some is outpatient. I'm glad I got to go home though. It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be at all! Someone else has told me about the Atkins shakes as well. I might have to try some. I just like having the protein shake in the mornings before I goto work since I'm always in a rush. Hah.

Louisville??
It went really well actually. It was outpatient so I was at the hospital for a total of about 5.5 hours. Pain was pretty minimal, the worst was sleeping. I'm a side or belly sleeper so that was an adjustment. I was off work for 4 weeks (work at UPS) but so far I have only lost 14 pounds. I didn't have any restriction afterward so I could eat about half of was I was eating before. Now since my fill Friday I've noticed a lil but of a difference so hopefully I'll start losing more. I got 4cc put in my band. Are you getting nervous? Do you have a preop diet? That was bad for me as well because I do not like the protein shakes at all. Hah

Louisville??
Oh okay! I almost went with Norton but ended up going with Baptist Health instead.

I didn't stay overnight so I just brought my tablet, ins card and drivers license, medication list, Chapstick and wore comfy clothes with warm socks.

No restriction 3 weeks post surgery
Same here. You probably don't have any fluid in your band. I go Jan 3rd for my first fill. I can def eat more than I should but I stop when satisfied and I'm trying to pick the right foods. From what I keep reading here and on my FB group we may need 3-4 fills before we feel the restriction. Good luck on your fill!

Kentucky Bander
Hello! I live in Mt Washington (right outside of Louisville) and was just banded on November 25th only down 10 pounds since surgery. But have lost 50 pounds since starting this journey (3 month dr supervised diet needed for insurance approval). I was banded at Baptist East by Dr Oldham.

Cost of fills...
I had an appointment with my dr today and asked them how much their fills cost out of curiosity. It's $100 at my office. I didn't ask about the fluoro fill though.

Forgive Me For Whining!
I'm sorry. It's not easy but maybe the meet with your nutritionist will help! It still shocks me at how different post surgery diets are. Mine is totally different. I had my surgery on Nov 25th(Mon) they told me for Thanksgiving I could have some mashed potatoes and green beans. Although my appetite wasn't back yet, that came this past weekend. I'm on mostly regular food. Eating veggie soup scrambled eggs... I can add raw veggies and fruits in 2 days. And by 2 weeks I can have whatever besides meats. (3 weeks chicken and turkey... 8 weeks everything else)
