  1. Hello everyone! I was banded November 4 and so far have lost 40 pounds since I started my preoperative diet. I haven't had any fill yet. I go back to doc on 2nd and we'll. See if I need one then. I have had one stuck episode. White meat chicken is not my friend! That and the fact I was probably eating to fast. I am working hard on slowing down; I definitely don't want to do that again. I am eating 3 meals a day, with an occasional fruit snack. I am so glad that I did this for me! For the first time in years I am below 300 pounds and I feel so much better! Thanks for starting this platform giving us a place to keep in touch!
  2. I was banded on November 4, 2013 too. My doctor recommends liquids (broths, gatorade, Water, Protein drinks, popsicles) for first 2 weeks. This week, the Protein Drinks have been making me nauseated, even just the smell of them. I tried Ensure High Protein Plus and the first couple were ok, then they also started to make me nauseated. Today for the first time I was actually hungry. I made myself some cream of chicken Soup, and I feel so guilty. I just didn't think I could stomach another cup of broth. Next week (Monday) , I go on the cream Soups, puddings, etc. Mushies come week 4. I am only a couple of days away from being allowed the cream soups, so I hope I haven't hurt myself. In desperate need of some support from someone who is going through or been through the same thing.
  3. Way to go girl! Such a huge accomplishment!!
  4. How did you know you were dehydrated? I'm day 5 post op. . I was extremely weak, couldn't even get up. Also, decreased urination and urine really dark and a strong odor. Once you get to this point, you need to go get IV fluids, you can't catch up on your own. Today is day 8, and oh what a difference ! I went to doc for 1 week follow-up. Everything good. Today is 1 month to the day that I went to the seminar, 4 weeks in the Sugar Busters diet and I have lost 24.5 pounds! Have 1 more week of liquids and then I start on the mushy diet. Super Excited!
  5. I am 1 week post op today and there is no way I could prepare a meal. I feel good, but it takes only a little exertion and I am wiped out. When I scheduled my surgery 3 weeks before Thanksgiving , I called my kids and told them I wasn't cooking this year. They were perfectly fine with it and we are already planning our Christmas meal to be band friendly. Holidays doesn't have to be the traditional foods, the time we spend with family is what makes the holiday!
  6. I was banded on 11/4/13. Today is one week post op and I am feeling better and oh so excited to be on this journey! The only problem that I have had is taking in all the liquids. I fell behind and got dehydrated, had to go and get IV fluids. Feeling much better now and really pushing myself to drink.
  7. Sorry to hear of your ordeal, glad you are feeling better now! I too was banded on 11/4/13. I have had a problem taking in enough liquids. I got dehydrated Friday, and had to get 2 liters of fluids. I feel much better now and am pushing myself to drink the liquids.
