  1. Wicked beauty, I agree Monday can't get here fast enough..I have so much anxiety... I am trying to find things to keep my mind off of it! My surgery is as 3:30pm so, Monday morning will be interesting...
  2. I am also the 28th and trying to do homework too keep my mind off of surgery but not working out!! I met with surgeon today and found out I might end up with the sleeve instead if gastric bypass. It has to do with current hernia and being able to move the intestines around. I can say I was disappointed I feel like I shouldn't be, I am still receiving WLS but just the chance worries me. Hopefully everyone is doing great pre-op and post-op
  3. Had blood drawn today and meeting with surgeon on weds. The 28th will be here sooner than I know!! Soon so soon getting excited!
  4. I have been trying recipes before I have my surgery. My Dr. does things different. No pre-op diet and right after hospital is full liquid. So thinned out soups and yogurts and protein shakes. I made a protein pudding and then froze it in ice cube trays it is like a fudge sickle. I know after having my c-sections popsicles seemed to help me so going to hopefully use this too! It was one large box of sugar free pudding(choc) 3 cups of 1% milk 3 scoops of choc protien mix. (I saw this on Pinterest) Another soup recipe I made was cream of mushroom with milk and added 1 cup of blended cottage cheese. Then strain so no mushroom pieces. It taste homemade because had a sour cream taste. It added more protein. Hope these can helps some of you
  5. My date is April 28. I have no pre-op diet but I am on my own learning about shakes and different meal options.
  6. That is a great loss so far! I am schedule for surgery on April 28th getting very nervous about it! I am having my surgery in Columbus at Riverside. Right now I am struggling with what life will be like afterwards. Can I manage this new live change? Did you find yourself asking those questions? Guessing it is pre-op worries. I will have like 150 to loss. I would love to keep in contact.
  7. I am in a small town called Howard. About 15 minutes from Mount Vernon. Where are you having your surgery? I am having mine at Riverside in Columbus.
  8. I am doing hair before because the other day I was setting up dentist appointment and the nurse said wait awhile after surgery because leaning back in the chair hurts after any abdominal surgery. So I thought same with getting hair washed before cut. Just a thought..
  9. I am excited I keep telling my husband this summer is all about me! I get 4 months out of school before student teaching. Hoping to gain some strong new habits and lose a chunk of weight. It will be the first time I have been first in a long time!!! So excited keep telling my kids we are going to soak in every sun ray and fresh air. I am planning on swimming and walking the bike path... I have big goals and hope to enjoy every moment I can...
  10. I hope everything works out for you. Get better fast! Then surgery will come.
  11. Thanks all for the nail info! I will skip nails I will wait until afterwards. It can be a pick me up. I love the list to pack. I am getting excited and trying to balance turning all my attention on the surgery when I still have my last college classes to complete..last exam on the evening of 24th and surgery on 28th. This month is going to be crazy!!
  12. Wow you look good. That is how much I want to loss. I understand there will be ups and downs but pushing through I hope to have an outcome like yours. My surgery date is April 28th.
  13. I am debating getting my hair done right before surgery and my nails. I want to feel good afterwards when I know I will be hurting and tired. Does anyone know if it will be ok to have my nails done for surgery?
  14. That is so exciting! Glad your letter came!
  15. How is everyone? My surgery isn't until the last week on the 28th but getting very nervous. So how is everyone else dealing with nerves? Good luck to this weeks upcoming surgeries. And those already on the losing side wishing a speedy recovery!
  16. I totally understand the panic.. My surgery date is April 28. I feel fine during the day, but in the evenings I feel extremely nervous about what I am choosing to do. I keep questioning am I strong enough to make these huge changes in my life. Then I get worried about what it will be like afterwards if I can or can't make these changes. I am glad my husband can talk me out of the fears and bring the joy and excitement back to what our lives will be like afterwards. Reminding my of my strengths....my kids... My dreams... It is a very scary choice and I think it is better to have some fear then not being prepared. I am scared of the hospital too. I have been treated bad because of my weight while having other surgeries done. Just comments and looks but enough to make me feel very self conscience. I am trusting my Dr. that this will be different. Good luck!!!
  17. I am from Ohio. Where are you from?
  18. I am received the call today, my surgery date is April 28th. No pre-op diet. I will meet with surgeon on the 16th. And pre-op paperwork on 24th. Very excited!!!

  20. I received phone call today approved!!! They said they will call in next couple days to set up meeting with surgeon and surgery date! Told they are scheduling end if April!!!
  21. Jfraz, I understand the feeling. I am waiting for approval also it has been 14 days. I called and they said it was in processing. I keep thinking what if it is denied.. The waiting is so hard. I hope by next week it will be processed so I can set end of April surgery date.
  22. Misty That is great about the shorten time.. It does go fast.. I will say the last month was my hardest... I keep telling myself not to feel defeated I needed this surgery to help be a tool so that is why it is so hard no tool yet... I keep thinking of trying to build a house without power tools.. Can it be done yes, does it take longer yes would I rather do it that way... No... Time to get the tool to make it go faster and easier. I still have to do the work but different type of labor involved... My info for approval has been sent and the insurance is processing... Insurance rep said that is a good sign...just got to stay faithful until end if April then the power tool will show up...
  23. I called the insurance company just to make sure they received everything. They did and it is being processed! Not an official approval but representative was very positive about it. I have been looking at my schedule and going to request an April 25 date if possible...day after my last college exam. I have no pre-op diet just the skills I have been learning and trying over the last 6 months. Smaller Protein focused meals every 3 hours drinking Water between only. Cut out everything sugar based and high fat. I am trying to substitute Protein drinks as meals so first half of day liquids then solids in evening. Good luck everyone...
