My insurance requires six months of seeing nutrition dietician for six months within last two years, psych appt, another pre op nutrition class! My surgeon wanted a cardiac clearance and an egd on my stomach! I think each dr is different and insurance companies require different things to approve you! I hope this helps ????

To finish what I didn't say in my last post is that it was not a good thing to have the sleeve when I already have stomach issues! Did your drs inform either of you about the reflux

I have not had surgery yet but I have reflux now. I was originally wanting the sleeve but after my consult with dr he informed me of the reflux that happens with the sleeve! I hope all goes well for both of you!

Congratulations on your approval!!! I still have a couple of things to do and my stuff will be sent to insurance for approval it's a hurry up and wait process! At times I am ready for it then I think am I ready? Really ready???

I completely understand I have a 5,000 deductible I am trying to reach! Just shelled out a thou out of my pocket for egd! Now because of something else dr found I have to have ultrasound scope in stomach! I am hoping that the hospital will work with me on pmt arrangements on the next thing also! But on a great note I had my psych eval today and I am cleared now for cardiac and one nut class! Whew makes me tired looking at it!

What kind of questions did they ask? I had to fill out a big packet for mine with a lot of questions!

I know this is a stupid question but how will you know if you ace the psych evaluation!!! Being that I have never been to one Do they just make sure you are not totally nuts to pass you?

Hello I am looking for a buddy to share ups and downs of my journey! I am pre op and hopefully will have surgery in December of this year!!!

I do not have a set date for December but I should be finished with all if my criteria by nov ! I am hoping for a late December date because of my job!

Yea for u! I have to finish all of my stuff I guess first! I am shooting for closer to Christmas so I don't have to miss much work!

I am on several meds also though not cymbalta! I am hoping other than my Paxil that I will not have I take a lot of my meds after this surgery. I can hardly wait!

I have UHC so I am hoping they are fast!
