  1. I too am a Dr.Malley patient....LOVE HIM!!! banded on 9/6 - doing super!!! He is very realistic and doesn't put you on a pre-op unless you need it (I didn't) He is also realistic when it comes to post-op eating...said if he tried to put me on all liquids for weeks I (and most patients) would cheat anyway, so he would rather give wider range post-op diet and know what we are eating...he is a no frills kinda guy - simple, and truthful, I trust him 100%. He did my mom 2years ago as well.
  2. Hi ! I was banded on 9/6...had my one week post-op, asked about the noises...got the "that's normal" routine and that was that! I will say that the noises and moving is settling down and not near as noticable. Being just a few days ahead of you I would venture to say that you will experience that too. I am feeling really - really good, how bout you?
  3. Try to move around as much as you can tolerate. It is the gas used to fill your belly so they can see in surgery looking for someplace to go...
  4. I had no driving restriction either. Banded Thursday... and drove on Monday.
  5. It will be much easier if you have someone with you...ask for wheelchairs at that airport to get you where you need to go. You should not feel that bad. They encourage you to be up and walking after surgery. Plus you should get your pain meds filled BEFORE you get on the plane...should be liquid Lortab or something similar. It will be a big bottle so take it prior and pack it in your suitcase....IMPORTANT
  6. I was banded on sept6...I got the runs on day 4, I don't think it is the yogart. The next day (yesterday) it was better, and better today. Maybe it is all the medicines that we got in IV that are just now making their way out cause our bowels have really been sleepy and are just now waking up from surgery ??? just a guess! hope you feel better!
  7. I was in the same boat and super freaked out about it! No underwear, no tampon...but they were so nice and let me slip into the bathroom literally on my why to the op.room so I "felt" clean, then the nurse promised to slip a pad between my legs, they were really understanding and assured me it was no big deal..when I woke in recovery - there was the pad!!
  8. Hi - I was banded 9/6 (four days ago) and I feel really good too. I moved a little slow, and am tender in my gut...but really am doing well. My stomach (my lower stomach) is rumbling a lot - I'm sure it's not happy with the liquid diet! If I had to pick one complaint it would be that I am easily winded and a little weak. I am trying to get 20g of protein per day via Isopure, hope that will help.... what are you eating now????
  9. thanks for your answer....did you have a lot of swelling???
  10. Scheduled to band Tues.Sept11. Will I be able to sing in the choir 5 days later on Sunday? Thanks!!! I have learned a lot reading all your posts.
