Hawaii pre & post bansters
Omg, i think i am eating like you Lisa. I havent tried bread or rice cuz im too scared. I'm even more scared of things now that this happened this morning. Im still so grossed out. Ladies, I went by curves this week and have a free week, so im going there two days now. I like it and feel it will help me tone up. Im waiting for the pool at Gunstock Ranch. I plan on taking my daughter there. I have had some many teachers come up to me on campus and ask me if my daughter is pregnant... SOOOO Shame!! She is now a size 14 and i get after her cuz i dont want her to be like me of course, but she has the worst belly. And, hello, sometimes she sneaks and wears clothes that I didnt buy...Ok, i wont go there but you moms know what i mean... Scared as heck about putting anything into my tummy today... but i will soon eat for lunch. I see some of you on, give me a call somebody.. Miriam

We are the TENaciousTENS!
Well, Im not sure if you call that a barf, but it sure felt like it. I looked at the bag after, and it was totally slimy. I don;t know if the slimy thing is the barf alternate.. Who knows us Oct folks are so knew to this, im gonna ask my buddies who have been there done that.. Im taking it easy the rest of the day. I think i will do some liquids again. I did venture to salmon and cabbage yesterday, but hubby grinded up the cabbage in the baby food grinder. I have a 10 month old at home. I have some baby food she isnt eating so maybe i will do that today... I wanna give me tummy a rest...

Hawaii pre & post bansters
Ok, people i am 15 days post op and i totally had a gross feeling this AM. I have learned that there is a reason why you must eat slow. I haven't changed that behavior totally but now i must. My shreded chicken got stuck and nothing i did could make it go down, and 10 mins later it all came up. Sooooo gross!!! It was like barfing but i guess thats what they call sliming. I was on my way out the door for work, and decided to come back in and wait it out. Good thing I did, because that would not have been bad at work or at my desk. Grossed out , Miriam

Aloha from Hawaii, Banded on 10-2 and feeling like did they put it in? No gas pains or anything thing to complain about. Things are going down fine. I'm in between liquids and mushies. I have so much soup that i need to finish that first. I am going to stay on liquids probably through next week. I wanted to go swimming, but doc said to wait another week. I'm down 20 lbs and feeling good. Good luck to you folks.. Miriam

Hawaii pre & post bansters
Hey Carmen, Glad you found us here. Us, im the one that wants to sing again. Maybe down the road I will be able to sing for the group when i get better air and lose some more. I've lost 20lbs noted in my post op visit day. Hey, you are the one he spoke about. I thought I was the one that was the first AP bandster but he said there was one unofficial one done on Monday. That was you. I was done the next day and first on the roster. Ok, sounds like you had some experience but im glad you made it thru. Did i see you today at the office?? I was speaking to a woman, that i saw at the group, but never got her name. Or, were you the one sitting across from me. Anyway, I went to see Mary after Fowler and she told me to say on purees (mushies) for four more days. Then move to soft foods. She said this would maximize the weight loss too and not to push moving to the next stage if i can tolerate it. I did do mash and viennas when i came home. All mushie to me.. But what im going to do if finish this baby food i have in here that my baby refuses to eat. She hates gerber, so mommy will have to love it with Protein powder.. Go figure.. Lisa thanks for calling, hey Bev, i could meet ya... let me know.. What's up with your fill Bev? You want to add or take out? Miriam

My worst fear....foreign body rejection
Its not that kinda thing. I am newly banded and have the worst allergies known, i dont have problems. Hey they put metal in folks, pins and rods with problems. Implants too... You'll be fine and happy that you done it. Its not like putting someone else's organ in you. Only problem i had was to the surgical tape. I had huge hives. Miriam

10/2 bandsters check in!
You may still need the protein powder anyway to have a mid morning or afternoon shake because you may not be able to get in all your proteins from food. Im on creamed soups not mash potatoes yet. That's next week according to my nutritionist. I brought the unflavored protein powder to put in my cream of wheat in the morning and in my cream of soups at night and afternoon. This way im getting in at least 60 grams a day with each meal.

Banded on 10-4
Any professional should practice ethically and i can't believe that happened. You will have to make the sound and let that doc know for sure. I'm a therapist and that is just bad advice and protocol. Nice to see you doing well. I'm on day six and doing great.

10/2 bandsters check in!
Banded 10/2 and doing ok. This is day six and im getting in my creamed Soups which are yuck to me. Cream of mushroom just doesnt taste yum without the casserole. But im doing it. I finally resorted to putting some spices in it. Similary, the liquid Isopure, im putting crystal lite in it. If anyone of you have done the ready made Isopure, you know what a dreaded taste it has, but with a lil flavor it goes down nicely and you get your Protein. For Breakfast yesterday I had cream of wheat diluated with silk soy milk with one spoon of splenda. It was nice and my first carb. Im only getting in 4 oz of liquids at a time but i seem to do much better with Water now. Im not as dehydrated. I was nervous like most of you, but you will find its a breeze, as long as you walk, walk, walk, to get the gas pains out. Good luck to all..will write more.. Aloha and God Bless, Miriam

food choices post-op
There is a list of food stages in the Food Thread. You should check there for some ideas. My dietician gave me some clues on which way to go. Im in the second stage, full liquids and doing creamed Soups, cream of wheat, shakes in between... if that helps. Miriam

Can't get it all in
I was banded on the 2nd as well. Yesterday i did so bad at getting it all in. I started the day with 2 cups of Water, then 1 cup tea, downed a bottle of Isopure, 1 cup broth, 1 more cup of water, and now on the second bottle of isopure. I also took a three hour nap in between. I think i will end the day with broth but i have to milk this isopure. Its not the most pleasant thing to drink. Miriam

Banded 10-2 and feeling seriously dehydrated
Aloha from Hawaii, I was banded three days ago. Im doing well and have some pain but not much. I'm trying to get the liquids in me and yesterday I had chicken broth twice, 2 oz of sf Jello, 2 cups of Water, and a cup of tea. I woke up this morning and feel like my eyes are sunken, my face is sunken and my hands well swirveled up. I use to drink at least a galllon of water a day because i was breastfeeding up to a month ago. Any thoughts?> Oh, i had a half bottle of my Isopure too. I plan on getting in some of those today. Miriam PS what to do about the stomach swelling..

Hawaii pre & post bansters
Aloha girls, I am officially on the band wagon. I'm two days out and feeling okay. Better yet, I've even walked in the hospital and was doing excercise there. Anything to get that gas pain out of the shoulders. I applied heat the the shoulder and kept going. I have little ones here so that motivates me to get moving. I will rest rather i have to make myself rest. I'm not that person that can stay down long. My belly is still fairly swollen with some sensitivity in the port area. I was able to have one 4 oz of jello, three cups of broth, half a protein shake yesterday. I hear my stomach making growling noises but i think that gas moving around. I/m not hungry. For the most part, this was a breeze... god bless and i will keep you posted... Miriam
