  1. Alohaaa Tishbite2, Yes, this is aloha to welcome all. In fact, I must let you know a lil secret. I am a Native Nyers... and I have been welcome and live Aloha everyday for the rest of my life. You will be welcomed im sure. Dr. Fowler can do fills from other doctors as long as you send your medical records over to him. I talked to him about referrals during our last appt. Does anybody know that he hurt his hand and had it have it surgically repaired with a pin in it. He said he is ready to do surgery again now. He had to hold off for a few weeks. You will love him, he is upfront, and has a warm personality. I welcomed change from a NYer i bet... aloha, miriam
  2. Hey there, I have a scheduled appt on the 16h which i may switch to the end of the month. If not, can we get together with you anyway, what time do you fly back. Maybe we can all meet up in the mall again. Mes
  3. I thought that too at first, but Water goes right thru... You will dehydrate if you dont get enough. At first you need at least 48 oz the first couple of days to a week and slowly increase to 64... mes
  4. Aloha no, Welcome Tashie, glad you found us. I am going to announce our lil group here in our next November meeting so more can join us. Glad you are starting your journey. If we can answer some questions, let us know. We are here to learn and share each others journies... Mes
  5. Im nearly banded, but i have heard that if its medically necessary, meaning it causes rashes and other complications, that the insurance willl cover... mes
  6. Kiwis, you can join some of the polys in hawaii pre and post bansters.. We'd love to have you... aloha
  7. Out of mushies and in full on food. Had my one month check and doc said im above the curve and doing well. I opted not to do a fill yet. I scheduled another time for Nov 16th and see if i go for it or not. I may wait... is it true that with the fills comes increase in PBs?? I totally dont wanna go there again.. that is sooo bad... How are all you ladies doing??? Hope to see you at the support group on Wednesday, i asked Jennifer and Mary if i could make some announcements about this forum... and also to give us time to talk more at these groups.. Mes
  8. Penny, What are you using for your asthma. I have singular and advair and im well managed for a person that use to spend every weekend in the hospital years before...
  9. Yup, thats the way its happened for me. I ate at Ala Moana yesterday with m daughter and got that feeling, but it never came up. Today i feel like my tummy hurts... I havent had my fill yet, but im even wondering if i should. Good luck lisa
  10. Can you tell me the symptoms of a slipped band?? I wonder it that is whats happening to me. I have a pain int he upper portion of my stomach feels like near the solar plexis and im slightly nauseous. Im nearly one month post op and had a hard time yesterday with my dinner. It got stuck twice and then i quit eating. I didnt PB but felt i had too..
  11. I;m newly banded and have the same issue. Im actually afraid that doc wont get to access my port as the scar tissues seems to have formed right over the port. I had gotten Beifine from my dermo for another scar and im going to try and start putting that one, it worked wonders on my other scar which was on my face and black as heck. Its completely gone and no raised or discoloration skin. As i type, im thinking of starting it today. Ask for a sample from your doc or schedule a visit to your dermotologist. Mes
  12. Is that why i can eat nearly a cup of food at a time. Am i streching my pouch. My first fill wont be until after Nov 2. mes
  13. Aloha fellow bandsters, I have been very busy and running around a lot. I come home late between 7-8pm and dont really know what I could be eating out there. Do you have ideas on where you go on the run and what do you eat?? I have done taco bell burritos but just the insides... Any suggestions?? Mes:help:
  14. Hey nice job.
  15. Aloha all, Im on the go alot like most of you. Anybody have some good fast food ideas i could eat without having a hard time. I am still getting use to more solid foods. I'm hovering in the mushie/soft stage, but yesterday i had some veggies, and two mixed chicken dishes from panda express. So any ideas? Miriam
  16. Aloha, You may need to get some Isopure drinks for the first week. The easiest way it goes down i found is with crystal light. I couldnt stomach the stuff without it. GNC has a few flavors these are ready made ones, but they cost about $4 each. You will need maybe 7 or so... after that the next week, best deal to get is EAS chocolate shake they have a big bag at costco or the Costco chocolate premier shake. Its 30grams and YUM. Good luck... miriam PS you can call me if you have questions.. my email:aloha@seashorehi.com...

  22. Can you folks give me an idea on what you are eating. I attemped to have shredded chicken yesterday and had my first PB. Yuck, so gross. I put mayo in it today and will try again. I have some garden veggie baby food on the side and some other stuff.. Interesting, i had a piece of pepperoni stick and string cheese as a snack. That went well. Share your food choices... thanks. Miriam
  23. You know people, Im glad this thread was started and that we can be so open and honest with each other. You see, when i went to my support group. Everybody talked about things they wanted to be able to do once they lost weight: move better, run after their kids, i said sing, somebody said paint their nails, sit in one seat in an airplane, BUT>>> I once was on a Quest to lose weight and my motivation was to have better sex!.. Ok, that's where i am again. My hubby noticed because im able to do funky stuff again... kudos for all of us... Miriam... sorry if that was a TMI...
  24. I think so, im down 20lbs and 15 day post op. That was the way my hubby checked for weight loss....he's silly. But he says he can tell that way while others can tell just by my baggy clothes.. Miriam
