Recipes for "mushy food" for NYE
Black eyed peas are good luck on New Year's - bet you could do something with those!

420 pounds gone forever! This is my journey...
What an inspiration! I love seeing success stories like yours!

3 week stall turning to 4 week stall
Waiting for the scale to move is a killer, isn't it? This is the point where I'd normally say, "forget it" and go back to old habits, but the sleeve won't let me - THAT'S why I had this thing done, and I'm so happy it's doing the job I needed it to do! My stall finally broke over Christmas, when I started real food. Then this morning I was up 7 pounds, lol. I'm also breaking out and grouchy, so I'm going to push through and attribute it to the period I thought I was going to completely skip this month. It seems to be heading my way!

Constipation
Two Colace kind of "broke loose" all the post-op medication induced backup - once things started moving again, I've been fine since.

Pain at lower right incision
My 1 month surgiversary was Christmas day, and I was feeling the burning/tearing pain until about 3 days before that. I think mine was exacerbated by the occupational therapist in the hospital (she had me do something I told her I couldn't, and I felt a pop). Worth a call to the doc just in case, though! I hope you feel better soon. That's a miserable feeling, and finding a comfortable position to sleep is impossible. Lack of sleep makes everything feel worse.

Your Favorite things- fitness/ exercise related
Go to a running store (even if you don't plan to run) and get fitted for a good pair of shoes. You'll cry when they tell you how much they are but it's totally worth it! I'd suggest a small place vs. a big chain store. Brooks are my favorite, but I've had pretty good luck with a pair of Saucony's too. I just grabbed them to do the color run without messing up my Brooks, but they've wound up being pretty comfortable.

Gastric sleeve surgery
Congratulations! Recovery can be pretty hard - but you'll probably wake up one day and feel perfectly normal

dessert options?
I plopped about 1/2 tablespoon of cream cheese in the microwave to get soft, then mixed it with about 1/2 of a SF chocolate pudding cup - it tasted like chocolate cheesecake and was just enough

Lying about what type of surgery..
Whatever you choose to do, I WOULDN'T go with the gall bladder excuse - not if you still have yours, anyway. If you wind up needing it out later, you'll have to come up with another story. I'd stick with an "I'm having a procedure" and, if pressed, that it's really something you're not comfortable talking about.

Post-op breakfast ideas
@@BLERDgirl, how soon did you start eating grits? I love grits with tuna.

Favorite gift you got and gave
Best thing I got this year was a handmade clay dish from my niece's kindergarten class - it was so cute! Most fun thing I gave was a microscope to my nephew, he was super excited about it. That was fun to watch . The best gift I think I might get myself now that Christmas is over is a fitbit flex...just trying to justify spending the money on it.

:::TMI::: Ladies chime in
1 month post op yesterday, and entirely skipped my period this month. Absolutely the opposite of what I was expecting!

3 week stall turning to 4 week stall
Thank you so much for all the support! I'm betting I gained some today just from salt, even though my eating wasn't awful I did have ham today. Not going to stress over it, just drink more Water tomorrow to flush it out! Hope everyone had a great day!

3 week stall turning to 4 week stall
I understand why and I'm okay with it (besides, I lost another 1/2 inch off my waist this week). Just grousing about it, though - I want to see the numbers move again! Also, for those of you who didn't tell anyone, maybe you were right. Everyone around me is so nice about things, but they all keep asking me how much I've lost now, and I really don't want to give them the same number I did a week ago!!

Intake "normal" for 4 weeks?
I'm just walking for now, but getting anxious to get back into the gym. Still not sure when I'll be allowed to do that, though!
-
Intake "normal" for 4 weeks?
I had applesauce this afternoon - I just started adding fruit back in, so that might account for the carbs. I didn't feel so great afterwards even though it was sugar free, so that might be something I don't do again for a while.
-
Intake "normal" for 4 weeks?
Thanks! I'm still trying to break the "spoonful of sugar" habit in my morning tea, so I'm waiting for that to bite me. I can drink it all day long without any, but the first one just won't go down any other way. I love that MFP message, by the way. Not something I ever expected to see in life.

Christmas and New Years Dinner - PUREE ANYONE?
Christmas day is my last day on purees, of course - if I'd just been a day earlier! . But I've never been one to go overboard and gain a lot on the holiday (I went overboard all year long, lol). I'll probably stick to my new normal Breakfast and lunch, then have a little of the traditional stuff for dinner (puree some turkey, have a spoonful of mashed potatoes, maybe a deviled egg and call it a day). Then Friday, back to my regularly scheduled programming!

My collarbone is beautiful...
Does everyone have those?! That's so cool. I remember reading something someone wrote, and I don't remember who or where, but they felt a bone for the first time and thought it was a tumor. It's a whole road of new experiences, right? Congrats!

Post Op Update
Gosh, it sounds like you're a lot more with it than I was at 4 days! Welcome to the other side, I'm so glad you're home and doing better

Is a colonoscopy a requirement for the sleeve surgery?
I wonder if it's too late to sign up for this...

Intake "normal" for 4 weeks?
Finally got around to checking out My Fitness Pal - I've been tracking manually up until now. My intake today is pretty representative of what I normally eat. I'll be 4 weeks tomorrow, and I was wondering if this looks normal for this point? Too much, too little? Calories: 578 (actually 623 once I add in the Calcium chews) Carbs: 51 Fat: 13 Protein: 63 Sodium: 1806 Sugar: 23 And I need to get another 8 oz of Fluid yet to make 64 today, but I've got a cup of tea in the microwave now. I think I can make it . I couldn't get my first follow up appointment with the nutritionist until 1/20, so I'm just trying to follow the papers we got until I can get in there.

I want to...
I want to be able to quit fretting about weight limits on everything. Kind of tired of going to people's houses and doing the discreet furniture wiggle to see if there's a chance I'm going to get dumped on my behind!

Is a colonoscopy a requirement for the sleeve surgery?
It probably depends on the doctor, but I didn't get either - they didn't even make us do a "clean out" prior to surgery! (editing to add that, after a few days on Dilaudid, I wish they had...)

Hand Pedaling for Sedentary Folks
I think that's great! Any activity you can do helps. I just ordered one for my brother for Christmas as he's recovering from a heart attack and it's too cold for him to get out to do much exercise right now, they're fantastic. Congrats on your success
