    Anyone from Oregon?

I'm glad you are doing better, and hope you are fully recovered. Sounds like a terrible experience (I heard the same thing from another of her leak patients...) hopefully you are now on a path to good health.

    Anyone from Oregon?

I so badly wanted to hit 100 lb loss by 4th of July, and was 96 on July 3. Friday morning, scales said 100.5 down!! Was so happy!! (Went back to 98 on Sunday, but that's ok...). My sleeve was done Feb 12 by Dr Deveney. I am struggling a little with temptation. Fortunately, more than a bite or two of sugar/fat makes me nauseous. (I tried to resist, I really did... they have donuts in the office on Wednesdays.....). This is still the best thing I've ever done for myself. I hope that I can engrain good habits deep enough to develop some resistance!

    Anyone from Oregon?

Well... I went with the team that hadn't sent anyone I know on an ambulance ride to the ER.

Everyone should believe their surgeon is the best. My surgeon is an upper abdominal specialist, who has been doing this procedure years before it was being used for weight loss. That gave me a lot of confidence.

    Anyone from Oregon?

Wow. So, today has been 30 days. It has gone really well. I've not had any problems at all, other than being a little tired of protein shakes. =p. Went for a bike ride yesterday. I *was* losing 10 lbs/week, but been stuck now for a week. At about 500 calories/day it's got to start coming off again soon, but for now, it's a little... frustrating. All in all, it's been good.

He did mine on Feb 12. The team at OHSU will take good care of you. I am feeling great. Down 30 lbs, in the first 3 weeks. Rode my bike yesterday! They will send you home with all kinds of meds for naseau, bloating, gas, stool softener, heartburn... I haven't needed to take any of them. It goes so smoothly that you can hardly believe it even happened!

    Funny moment. Lol

They make gel cushions that you can take to the movies with you!! Best part? You can disconnect yourself from a gel cushion. =)

    Hello Fellow Oregon Sleevers!

Wow. That is awesome!! I'm looking forward to the results, for sure. I have an arthritic knee that I am hoping will improve a lot with this.

Is there a support group? I want to talk to people at various post-op stages. I'm so nervous about this. How long are you off work? How does it feel 12 days out?

OHSU is doing it. Patterson is too expensive, and I know too many people who had issues from her.

Portland... Don't have a date yet
  15. Call the ins company. 90 days is going to go by whether you do ore-auth stuff or not. Every policy is different, so you need to speak with the ins company.
  16. The duodenal switch is pretty drastic. Some doctors won't even do it. The side effects are nasty. Malabsorption is worse. It scares me.

How long ago did you have surgery? I am waiting through the approval process. I am targeting February. Too scared to do it now.
