Soups
My NUT told me soup is OK. She also told me cruskets are OK... Starting to wonder now after what I have been reading on here. Has she given me the right advice?

October sleevers - what are you sble to eat 2 weeks post op?
I can manage cottage cheese now. I have a protein shake made with milk for breakfast, and mostly soup for the rest of the day. Past couple of days I have eaten a crusket with a slice of ham. Goes down very well. My NUT told me about cruskets. I do get hungry though. Sometimes I feel starving, but just can't eat! Still, I guess that's the idea :-)

I'm 52, One year out and have lots of inflammation
My body started to fall apart when i was about 53. I suffered all sorts of aches and pains. Eventually, I couldn't walk and had both knees replaced age 55. I just put it down to being seriously overweight. My hips are playing up now! There is even (apparently) and inflammatory marker in my blood work - CRP I think it's called. Way above normal. Also apparently a marker in women for heart attack. That's why I had the sleeve. I'm interested to see if my CRP comes within normal range as I lose weight. 20 kilos is impressive. I lost about 7 in the first week, but have hardly lost a gram since then. Still in the doubt phase where I wonder if it will really work for me... There is a 50s+ thread where you could post your question. You might get more replies. Cheers! Jane

My most satisfying "meal" since surgery: 1 crusket with a spread of soft avocado and a slice of ham. Mmmm. Nom, nom, nom

5 days post op
It gets better Every day you'll notice an improvement. I kept forgetting to sip and was in agony after every gulp. Drinking is no problem at all now. Took me about 10-12 days I think.

5 Confessions (Join In)
I confess that I too would like to find a mate. My hubby died in 2005. Hoping that I will get skinny enough to feel attractive enough to actually find a new soul mate.

Hmm. Can anyone guess what mine means?- October Sleevers ~~~ How's your weightloss going so far?
Yep, me too. Haven't lost a thing in daaaaays. :-( As someone said - goes against science! My grandsons first birthday party today. I ate a sausage roll. It went down really well, then 20 minutes later it started coming back up again! Serves me right for trying to eat rubbish!- October Sleevers - Who else
I wonder how we'll all be in October 2014!- Omg! Omg! I just fit into a size 14 dress!
You look fantastic! Can't wait till it's me!- 5 days Post OP - sad, depressed
This is exactly what I said to myself on day 2 - couldn't believe I'd done this to MYSELF! Now, three weeks out, the regrets are all over. It does get better and better :-)- It seems like everyday is a struggle.
Yes, I get bored and lonely! Food was good company. (Before that, booze was good company!) I actually missed the booze more than I miss food. Perhaps because I was EXPECTING to notice the loss of food having experienced the same emotion when I stopped drinking. What I do now is keep very busy. Exploring new hobbies (soap making!), reading heaps of novels. Joined a service club. Went to night classes. Reconnected with people I haven't seen in a while. Trying on shoes in the shoe shop - I'm going to wear killer heels when I'm thin. It is normal to feel sad - we have all "lost" a good friend in food, something we all turned to at emotional times in our lives. I am only 3 weeks out. Only feel "regret" very fleetingly. I'm working on finding other things that hit my "happy button". Good luck!- Just got back from a Disney Cruise
I was only wondering about a cruise yesterday - I was on the beach and saw a cruise ship go out of Auckland Harbour. I have always wanted to go on a cruise, but it occurred to me that a cruise might not be as much fun without the food!!! Glad to hear it can still be fun. :-)- 4 weeks post op and did not loose thus week
I can totally relate! I've tried everything in the past to lose weight, and nothing worked. Now I've been sleeved. I can go for days and not lose any weight (Yes! I weigh myself every day!) I guess I'm still at the stage where I worry that even THIS will not work... Fear and doubt is all it is, I hope :-( - What's the story behind your profile name?
