  1. On every forum, there are one or two (or three) who opinionate like world experts, criticise others and yes, bully others. I name no names, but maybe you recognise yourself. I've read all of these topics and threads shaking my head. There are some people to whom I will NEVER reply, because I don't like the snide, catty and spiteful tone of their comments to others. And as for hijacking this thread with "food porn", well, to me just looks like more bullying.
  2. Keep trying. It will get better :-) I had the same problem, but can drink fine now. (Sleeved on 15th October)
  3. I had both knees replaced in Feb 2012. Took me months to recover (just sayin'). Now I am great and considering I couldn't walk before my TKRs, and the pain kept me up half the night, there's an enormous improvement. I wonder if I would have needed them done if I'd had the sleeve done years ago. However, it's done now and I can walk for miles without any problem. Only thing I can't do is kneel, but I'm working on that.
  4. Me too! Feel exhausted... However, I am going to drag myself out for a walk now. Thanks for the inspiration BigLew :-)
  5. Where are you from Candyleo? We're in kgs too! I use an online converter so that I can fill in my ticker. I've lost 9kgs, but I can't see any difference. My daughter reckons my face is waay thinner, but it looks the same to me... I have taken photos, wearing my pjs, one week out, and 2 weeks out. Aim to take the pics every week to track progress. :-)
  6. I've lost about 16 lbs since surgery. So 2.5 weeks now. It will be great if it continues at that rate! How bout you?
  7. Yep, definitely should get it checked.
  8. Congrats to all October sleevers - it's already 31st in my part of the world. I'm happy 'cos the scales moved down this morning! :-)
  9. Reassuring that i am not the only one..:-)
  10. Not hormones in my case - I am waaay too old! But you're right - calorific intake is so low, it has to happen at some stage!
  11. My weight has been the same for a week! What is going on here?!!! (But actually, even I think I look thinner...)
  12. i tried to have a little scrambled egg at my Rotary breakfast - fail! At least about three mouth fulls went down, but then I had to rush out before the three mouthfuls came back up again!!! Yep, all I can do is protein shakes, milk, yogurt and soups. Never mind - I guess that's the idea!
  13. Go Kathy and fyrecraka! And every one else being sleeved today! Don't forget to keep us informed...:-)
  14. I think all docs are different. Some insist on a pre op diet, some don't. Some like you to use antibacterial soap, again some don't. It all seems to be down to the doctors preference. But it can't HURT to use an antibacterial soap. Then you're covered! They will swab your belly all over with iodine before they begin surgery in any case... Good luck on operation day :-)
  15. I wasn't asked to do anything special. Just a regular shower before going to hospital.
  16. I keep forgetting to sip, and keep taking huge gulps when i drink - very, very uncomfortable!!! (11 days post op) Other than that, you wouldn't know I'd had surgery. The healing really is amazingly fast. Good luck everyone!
