  1. Any potential December Sleevsters out there?? Im finishing up a couple of the requirements and hoping for a Dec 5 surgery date. Just in time to recoup for Christmas with my kids. Getting super excited!!!
  2. Wow a very big congratulations to you!! You look amazing and are such an inspiration!
  3. Thank you for sharing your story! You look awesome! You truly look like your former selfs younger (slimmer) self! Way to go!!! :-) I loved hearing all you've learned on your journey, and the fact that we really don't need as much food as we think. I'm a Pre-sleever so this info is so helpful for me.
  4. DP8 and Red do you think 11 days is enough time off from work? I have a desk job.
  5. Thanks so much Everyone! Congrats on your success! Wow Crazypants that is amazing that your dr doesn't do lb anymore...that speaks volumes. So happy to hear from people who've had the lb and revised to sleeve. It's such a scary decision because every body's body is do different. U w has 2 csections do I'm not as worries about the surgery as I am the recovery with 3 kids and full time career. What was your recovery like? Is 11 days off work enough (I can be at desk if needed ).
  6. Thank you all SO much for your feedback. I am very much leaning towards the sleeve now after doing alot if research and continuing to talk to people. I am so thankful fir this forum and for everyone here. I am very fortunate because my insurance covers both lb and sleeve. Continued success to all if you !
  7. Hi there..curious how much time everyone took off if work? I work in sales but can be at my desk if needed...was thinking if taking 11 or 12 days. Is that enough time???
  8. Wow NewMommy you look amazing!! How was your recovery? What is your diet like (sample foods you eat)? Has the sleeve helped with the 'bad food' cravings?
  9. Thanks cowgirl. I was referring to the successful friends I have personally along with patients I've seen at the support groups and the online talk forum for lapband that I've been reviewing for the last 7 months. I would never base such an important decision on what just a 'few' people say...hence being the reason I'm on this forum getting as much feedback as I can. Every experience is so different, however I am reading more and more about band to sleeve revisions. Appreciate the info!
  10. Thank you all so much! Truly appreciate your feedback ! So any discomforts - ie: reflux, or this sliming that I think is only with the band..or food getting stuck? All sound horrific but I think most of these are with the band. Oh also do most of you now still have to. 'Sip' your water? I gave always been a very big water drinker (a gulper lol). Wishing you both all continues success on your journey!!
  11. Thank you KV! When were you sleeved and how much have you lost? Most importantly how do you feel? Were you ever concerned about losing to much? I currently weigh 240 and I would love to ideally lose about 70-80 lbs...but def don't want to get to small..I love my curves..lol. Is your appetite drastically reduced ? What are goods you eat and foods you avoid??
  12. I've been doing a ton of research and gone to a few support groups. I have met some very successful people with both Lapband and the sleeve. I'm curious to know how your recovery was with the sleeve? I have 3 kids...2 younger ones and I work full-time. I was planning on hopefully scheduling a December surgery date but was going to maybe only take 10 or 11days. Is that sufficient time fir the sleeve surgery? As a mom I originally was leaning towards sleeve because it seemed the least risky...but I've noticed alot of band to sleeve revisions. Would love feedback on this. Thanks!
  13. I know this title may seem silly or unimaginable but I am a newbie and still going back and forth between having the Lapband vs the Sleeve. I see all of everyone's amazing success stories with the sleeve And I'm wondering when you get to your healthy goal weight how do you know you won't keep losing? Or better yet..how do you stop losing?? I have always been curvy and def want to keep my curves (just less of them lol). I would never want to be a stick so Im just wondering how some of you are handling this. Do you just increase calories, etc ? Also would love feed back on recovery and also what made you choose the sleeve vs other wls's.
