  1. I am exactly 3 weeks away from my surgery and I've been open about having the surgery with my family, friends and co-workers. As the days grow closer I having been getting asked "Are you nervous?". My answer has been "no but that could change". Right now I am filled with anticipation and excitement to begin a whole new healthier chapter of my life. I am looking forward to being able to do things that I couldn't do because of my weight. I think that has been my focus thru this whole process. I'm sure my nerves will kick in a little as my surgery date gets closer but I hope to maintain my excitement.
  2. yes I need to lose at least that as well.
  3. me too!! Good luck. I hope we all have successful surgeries.
  4. Thanks Atlanta Red for the list. That was awesome!!
  5. I'm having surgery in December and I've been open about it with my friends, family and coworkers. The only people I haven't told yet are my two boys ages 13 & 12. That's not because I don't want them to know. I plan to tell them within 2 weeks of the date. My mother is having open heart surgery within the next couple of weeks and I don't want to overwhelm them. Other then that I have been open about it. I say to each his/her own. Everyone has to decide what's best for them.
  6. This my Hercules. He is 4 years old today. We just got back from a trip to Petsmart for some birthday toys.
  7. I thought was really funny lol. Enjoy!
  8. Thanks Atlanta Red. It was a little disappointing but I believe everything happens just when it's supposed to happen so December it is. And yes we will all be even more fabulous for the new year!!
  9. Thanks and yes we are but it's worth it =). My mom has to get open heart surgery at the end of this month so we are having a family dinner next weekend. That will serve as our holiday family time for this year.
  10. Hello everyone. I am scheduled for December 4th. I was approved back in August but due to family health issues and the start of a new position at work I had to push my date back but I'm all set. I just found this site a few days ago while going revisiting information about the surgery. I'm grateful for all of your posts. They have been very insightful. I was feeling somewhat disconnected because of the delay of my surgery. I went they all my clearances and weight management program from March - July and since then I haven't really have had any real significant contact or activity regarding the surgery with anyone. I have my nutrition class and pre admission testing on the 21st of November. I had fallen off the weight management a bit since my last appointment in June but I have placed myself back on it and am using the tools I've learned. I will have to go thru a pre op diet once I have my appt. so no thanksgiving for me this year but I'm very okay with that. I'm really looking forward to my day in December.
