  6. Hi guys, I'm entering into my final week before I am sleeved on Monday, October 10. I am very excited and wanted to see if any of you had any recommendations of things I should get prior to surgery? I feel prepared for all of the liquid prep, but maybe there are some non-food things that will make life easier for this journey. I have seen some discuss buying the little 4oz cups from Wal-Mart, some have mentioned purchasing baby sippy cups to ensure you don't swallow too much at one time. If any of you have any ideas, please share them with me. I look forward to hearing from everyone! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. You should try quest protein bars! Many great flavors, all packed with lots of protein and fiber!
  8. Jim, good for you! Life with the band is not about restricting what we eat, but more of how much we eat! I can honestly say I enjoyed my share of desserts and goodies during the holiday!
  9. Congrats on your progress! We are well on our way to healthier and more energetic lives!
  10. Thanks! I'm really excited!
  11. This is definitely an exciting time!
  12. I'm glad things tuned around for you! How much have you lost?
  13. Hello bandsters, I wanted to write and express how pleased I am 2 months post-op with getting the band! I am 24 lbs down, and for the first time in a long time can I start the new year with a weight loss promise I can keep! Now that all of the holiday treats are out of the house, I can now refocus on reaching my 60lbs mark by March! Are there any fitness challenges going on now? If so please share, I'd love to participate!
  14. Absolutely! I just left it on the blog!
  15. Congrats to you! I'm sure you will have much more to look forward to in the future!
  16. Great blog! I am approaching my first fill in (2) weeks. I do believe I have been giving a false sense of what it will be like after the first fill. I do feel more informed after reading your blog! Thanks for sharing!
  17. Good morning Bandsters, Happy Halloween! Today marks my 1 week anniversary of being banded! As of today, I am 12lbs. down, with a journey to go! I'm inspired daily with knowing that I have made the best decision ever to invest into my health!
  18. Don't get discouraged! Keep fighting the good fight!
  19. That is some very exciting news! Best wishes! We will see you on the other side!
  20. I returned to work on Monday, and was banded on last Thursday! It may vary from person to person! I felt great on the first day back, but was worn out by the time I made it home. Was in bed by 7!!!! I also started my workouts back up on yesterday! Listen to your body and not your mind!
  21. Hello Bandsters, I am entering into my 4th day post-op, and was feeling extremely motivated to start my gym routine again. I know it's been discouraged to lift weights at this point, but I thought I'd start with about 30-40 min treadmill walk. I will be returning to work tomorrow, and thought a nice walk would get my day started right! Can anyone suggest any exercises that you have found to be effective at this stage?
  22. Good evening everyone, I'm concluding ny 4th day post-op, and feeling great! I think I may be close to 10lbs down......mostly water weight, but I'm eager to start back in the gym tomorrow morning. Ill start with a 45 min treadmill walk. I hope this is not pushing it. Ill just let me body dictate when it's time to stop. Has anyone else dine any gym work?
  23. @ldlady: I do understand the gas pain moving throughout your body. Thankfully, I've been able to pass it a little more frequent than the past 2 days. Hang in there! Each day passed, is a little closer to reaching our goal!
