  1. Lol I LOVE baking to! its something I picked up after surgery... go figure! But I am not a sweets type of gal.. so I never have the temptation to chow down on them lol.. well unless its that time of the month.. then I just stay away from the oven so I wont eat them! lol But Terry that is such a good idea!! I never even thought about that!! I have my kiddos and the hubster.. so they usually take care of the eating for me.. but now the hubster is on a strict diet. Hes trying to do my puch test diet with me, even though he didn't have surgery! I try to tell him its a bad idea for him.. but he wont listen. So I havnt baked in awhile as he has asked me not to lol. But as for me I have been doing pretty good with it! I am down 4 lbs so far!! So I can tell its working. I think not drinking my protein all the time and drinking a full pot of coffee have been the cause of my weight gain! Well that and not being able to exercise! So maybe my 4 lb weight loss will be someone elses inspiration also! It has inspired me to stick to it that's for sure!
  2. Agreed. I was truthful with mine.. so they took extra precautions. I was also on the somewhat smaller side and I was 28 when I had my surgery.. I mean you know the risks and the Drs do tell you not to smoke for a good reason.. its because of your circulation and any type of nicotine not just smoking can effect it.. you are also at a higher risk for infection.. but you asked for an honest answer so I gave you mine.. they also ask if you can walk up a flight of stairs without any complication.. and I was able to do that without being out of breath.. so take all of that and figure out which route your going to go.. It's a life changing surgery.. and a major surgery at that! So just do your research.. your results may not be the same as mine and is a cigg really worth it? I personally couldn't kick the habit.. and am grateful that it turned out the way it did.
  3. I think I waited 1 week or so and was corrupted by friends! so I took it up again... I was also on nexium though to help prevent ulcers... but never had a problem with them.. in fact I was off of my nexium 6 months out and was fine.
  4. yes I am still smoking.. I could never quit.. and don't really care to at the moment... lol horrible I know.. but its my addiction.
  5. I am a smoker.. and I smoked the night before my surgery and after.. I am still alive and kicking! So I mean its up to you.. I knew of the risks, just couldn't cut the habit at all...
  6. I was told 1/2 of your body weight is how much Protein you should be getting..
  7. Lol at least I wasn't the only one lol. I don't feel to bad now.
  8. AUGH!!! So im totally disappointed with myself! I did really good allll day until dinner time came! I made homemade potato soup for the fam bam... and I was only sipping on the broth.. then this evil food starved demon came out of me and ate not 1 but 2 bowls!!!!! gees;.... im so upset with myself!! anyhoot I am going to do it again today.. I didn't mess up to bad.. but still I messed up bad enough! So I am going to have to even stricter on myself today.. which wont be to hard since its just the kiddos and I tonight.
  9. I do think that my pouch has gotten bigger. I don't get that full feeling anymore.. not at all! I have been really bad though, and I have gained 10lbs! I was at 145 and now I am at 155!!! so I really need to re evaluate the way I have been doing things. It gets out of control before you even realize it! Its a pretty scary thing.. so that is why im doing the pouch reset. I hope it works. I also just had major back surgery.. so because of that and being stuck on the couch for 2 months.. all I did was eat and I wasn't able to exercise...
  10. haha oh no.. im sorry. I can picture you spitting your tea out of your mouth as you read that!! lol For me though I use regular hazelnut creamer which has calories.. and I grab a big cup and drink it allllllll day!! So I have to yell at myself to make me stop it..
  11. I should also mention that I am 2 yrs and 2 months out from surgery... and in the last 2 months my body has been reacting to things in a very weird way..
  12. lol I honestly don't believe it does... I just want to quit it... so I tell myself that. I do think that it slows down my metabolism and it makes me bloated.. but that is the way my body handles the caffeine lately.
  13. It took me almost 5 months to try caffeine again... but once I did, I became hooked! Even more so then before surgery. I would find myself drinking coffee water and protein all day and not eating!! I am still like that on certain days... so I am currently working on backing off of the caffeine.. I think it has slowed my weight loss down.. and I just keep trying to tell myself that coffee makes me fat.. as im sipping on a cup right now... lol its a hard one for me to cut out... but I def think that if you havn't picked it back up... don't! I wish I wouldn't have anyways.
  14. Oh and the 5 day pouch test is where you shrink your pouch back up by starting with your surgery basics. 2 days of all liquids, 1 day of soft protein, 1 day of reg. protein and then 1 day of dry hard protein. It seems like it would be easy.. but it is def not!
  15. Today is actually my first day trying this to. So far I just keep thinking of all the food I want to eat!!! It is very hard for me because I have to constantly be in the kitchen making food for my 3 yr old! But so far I have had 1 protein shake, 2 cups of water, and 2 small cups of coffee! I think when it comes time for dinner I am going to play with my hair and makeup or something lol.. I don't think I can be strong enough to stay away from food on my own!!
