  1. Pooh, Pooh on them! (Sure hope that isn't considered profanity, if it is, I'll say what I REALLY wanted to say)
  2. The way I dealt with the worries was all the research I did...I found out that this surgery is the least dangerous of them all out the gate...yep, there can be complications and they don't all happen right away. Some have problems a year down the road...doesn't inspire feelings of safety I must say but, I haven't found where anyone died from them. My decision was really simple, I don't want to be fat any longer if I can do something about it. This is the best decision I made for myself..and even if somewhere down the road something happens..I only hope I've got at least most of the weight off.... Wishing you both have smooth sailing!
  3. Jeannie, Thanks so much...I will pass it on...he's being resistant...I'm hoping when he sees me and the progress I'm making it will help him decide....
  4. I found this on the net...also, are you taking Vitamins? Maybe neo-natal vitamins would help.... Table of food high in iron: http://www.weightlossforall.com/iron-rich-food.htm
  5. And just when I thought it was safe! Here I've been patting myself on the shoulder for doing something right since I haven't had any loss and wouldn't you know.... Oh well, I've been having trouble finding a new hairdo anyway (they don't really have any for curly hair) maybe I'll just shave my head!
  6. Congratulations! You sound great!
  7. My background is in Administrative and Office Management...my husband was in the military and so I was always learning something new....But I must say, I have the best job right now with censoring the movies that come into our compound...always been a lover of movies and now I get to watch them all day...one draw-back...I have to watch films I wouldn't normally watch....but that's okay...I love the no pressure of this job... My husband is a white collar crime investigator for Saudi Aramco...
  8. No place exotic...a wedding in NJ, Houston (for business), Oklahoma (family), AZ (home), DC (Family & business) and a couple of days in Amsterdam then back here.... Since we bought the house in AZ, we like to go there on holidays and do stuff...I'm sure at some point we will regret not traveling some more here towards the end...but it's SO nice to have a house that's ours....
  9. My Doc usually does a fill at eight weeks but I'm leaving on vacation so will have to wait until I get back which will make it 12 weeks but that's okay...I'm not really in a hurry.....
  10. Good Luck Ron! Let us know as soon as you can how you are!
  11. Hi Everyone, Just an update, FINALLY yesterday for the first time I felt normal...no pain, I slept on my left side last night (it's the small things that matter!)! I figured out that with all the coughing causing the pain that if I bend over when I have to cough...it doesn't hurt (all that excess makes a cushion) and therefore doesn't irrate and it's finally getting back to normal. I get to eat REAL food now and that's great! Discovered that Lean Cuisine (thanks to j.lynn) is PERFECT! Thank you-Thank you-Thank-you to everyone...I find such inspiration from all of you. I've never been a "joiner" but you guys embodie the positives of a group spirit and give me confidence that I CAN do this...

I know, they depress the hell out of me...but I envy their comfort with their bodies...when I was young and had that body I didn't enjoy it...very self conscious....always felt like I was fat... Even though I'm 51 I've decided that when I get this weight off and get my tummy tuck (among other things) I want them to pierce my belly button at the same time (wonder if they will) and I'm going to get a tatoo across the lower part of my back...Nothing like an Old Woman gone wild!
  13. AussieGirl, Welcome! Sounds like you are doing great...this is a wonderful place for info and support. I come here everyday just to keep motivated!
  14. BigMom, Are you eating every 2-3 hours? I find that if I stick to that schedule I don't get as hungry and it's easier to resist temptation.... Breakfast Snack lunch Snack dinner Snack

  17. CONGRATULATIONS JANIE! You are my hero...I am shooting for never having a PB as well...and I'd say that 4 pounds out from your goal is still a success! Maybe you could share with us what you've been doing to be so successful????
  18. Hi Rena, Welcome!
  19. Yeah...this stuff can be worrisom...glad to hear your's is getting smaller...sure hope he's right about mine... guess i could change my name to lumpy.....
  20. Went to my doc and he said the lump was normal and should go away in a few months... Hmmmm.......
  21. Thanks, I'll pass that on to my brother. FYI, I also found one in Edmond....
  22. No, my port is on the left...I think this is where they went in to lift the liver....? Yep, directly under the scar...my girlfriend said it could be a piece of suture left inside...I don't think it's an abcess...no redness and only slightly tender.... I looked up seroma...THAT sounds disgusting...not sure I could do it myself....big baby that's me! I know what you mean about the port bump...I had to put on a new bandage last night and I swear I could see a bump where the port is...this could get ugly....wonder if they can reposition it.....
  23. Thank you Alex...I tried some other searches, here and on the net using "lump" not much help there!
  24. Hi Everyone....I was starting to feel bad because I seem to be skating through this whole experience but now I have a question.... The incision on my right side has a lump under it....not particularly painful but I know it's there...does anyone have any thoughts on what this is? I'm 3 weeks post-op today..I see my doc tomorrow and will ask him but was curious if anyone else has had this.. When I sneezed a while back and thought I'd torn a muscle..maybe I did the real damage at the incision site? Is it possible for scar tissue to build up this quickly? All input appreciated... Thanks
