Psych Evaluation
I am not really worried about the questions. I just felt that they were annoying after a while. Then I had to be interviewed and asked the same questions again. It was very time consuming. I just don't want someone to stop my surgery because of how they perceive me. But I feel so much better now that its over. He was very nice and said that they just didn't want patients to go into the surgery depressed because there is some depression afterwards. And if its not treated before then it might hinder your ability to be successful. I just wanted to post some of the questions so someone that's nervous about theirs can see that they are easy questions and there is nothing to worry about.

Psych Evaluation
Hello all!! Well today I had my psych evaluation. I think I passed! lol I had to be there at 7:45 and my appointment wasn't until 9. So from 7:45 till 9 I was filling out paper work and answering a bunch of questions. The questions were basic questions. They reallu didn't go into detail. They also were very repetitive! I answered some questions at least 5 times. I went back at about 9 with the doctor. He had a 50 question questionnaire that he had to ask me. They weren't that bad. But again they were very repetitive. They also were worded weird. So I did ask him to explain a few of them. But the doctor was really nice and we talked throughout the questions. He even said they were worded weird. I also took pictures of some of the question forms. I figured that someone on here might want to see what kinds of questions I was asked. I know that it would have helped me going in if I knew what to expect!! So hopefully these help someone. I hope the rest of you guys don't mind. I feel like I cheated on a test because I took pictures lol but oh well hopefully this is the only time that we all have to go through something so personal!! But over all I think I passed. He said he passed me but that he has to wait on the scan tron test I took to come back to know for sure. Well if anyone has any questions about my experience please feel free to ask me!! PS: there is a lot of pictures..lol

Ok there is the pictures. I was just wondering if anyone else post op had eaten it. I am still pre op and just seen this in the store and decided to try it. I know that with surgery it's trial and error. I'm not trying to fall back into old habits and gain weight back. But I was thinking since it was sugar free and not many calories it would be ok.- Sugar free ice cream?

Thanks! And yeah it has to be some thing big for him to be gone for a month or more. That's a lot of money he's missing. Lol- If it's not one thing it's another!
So as most of you know I am pre op and was required to loose 34 pounds before I got my second appointment. So I struggled for about 9 weeks and finally got the weight off. I made my appointment two weeks ago and it was for next Wednesday the 25th. Well I got a call today from the nurse and something has happened in my surgeons family and he has to go away for a month or so. So I had to reschedule my appointment for October 30. Then she goes on to say that it might be longer. My heart sank! I am already struggling to keep the weight off. I did my part! Everything he asked I did it! I am so heart broken right now. I wanted to get my surgery before thanksgiving. Now I'm looking at maybe January. Then I asked her if she would see if the other surgeon if he would be willing to take on my case. But he makes everyone have a psych eval. Uggh it just seems like if it isn't one thing it's another. Plus on top of dealing with this news today I'm also looking for a house because I have to move. I'm just super stressed out!! But I'm going to stay on track. I might even go weigh in to see if I've lost more. My home scale says about 48 pounds..ok well thanks for listening to my little rant. I think I feel better already just letting it all out!- Happy Halloween!
Yea! Good luck!- Family unsupportive
You are definitely not alone!! I felt that way when I decided to try for the surgery. All of my friends except 2of them said don't do it. And now that I have lost about 40pounds on my own they are like see you can do it alone. Then they will tell me some horror story about something they have heard about the surgery. So that scares the crap out of me. I'm already nervous about it. I don't need any help being scared. I just told them don't talk to me about it anymore. If they start I will shut them down and tell them hush it. I am ready to live again. This weight has had me basically shut in the house for years. I mean I go out but I have to plan trips. I can't go anywhere without scooters because of my knees. I'm ready to walk, walk, walk again! Screw everyone else and their feelings! This is our life and we deserve to be happy again!! Good luck to you!! Feel free to message me anytime we can support each other!- Family unsupportive
I am in the same boat as you right now. My mother who is also over weight doesn't support me either. I try to talk to her about it and she always changes the subject. My sister who is very self centered and if the subject isn't about her also could care less bout my surgery. I'm still pre op also and it's been tough going through this by myself. I have found people on here to be more supportive then my own family. I am still going to go through with the surgery. I have been so worried about others for so long now it's time to work on myself. Don't worry about others this is your time to shine! Get healthy and I'm sure in the end they will come around. And if they don't its their loss! - Sugar free ice cream?
