  1. New thread in post op under August surgeries
  2. Hi everyone, I had my surgery August 6th. I haven't had any pain, thankfully. My only issue has been with my incision opening. But it's finally healed. Almost had a dehydration scare, thought I was going to have to go to Er but I started really concentrating on my fluids and am more aware of having to make sure I get enough. I started on soft regular foods on Tuesday and have only had one instance where I over ate and ended up throwing up. Last night I got a chicken pot pie from KFC and ate too much and there was no way it was staying down. I only ate about 4 bites and no crust but about half of that came up. I've learned. I was 326 at my discharge from the hospital and am 306 today. I don't see anything but everyone says u can see it in my face, boo, I don't want to lose it there. It is really strange not bing hungry all the time. My head still wants everything but my stomach says no no no. I haven't had anything so far that has made me sick, other than over eating, I did try some ice cream from my daughters birthday, it stayed down and was easy on my stomach but I had diahrrea about two hours later. Other than that i am scared to try anything with sugar. Hope everyone else is doing well.
  3. My mother does it to me already and I barely had surgery on the 6th of August. But I think that she, maybe all of them, think that they r helping us. And my oldest daughter, who is 22, hasn't done it to me, but when she talks to my mom, and my mom tells her what I have taken a bite of, my daughter comments that I shouldn't b eating that stuff, it's not healthy. But they are both over weight. I don't take it personal. I really think they think they r trying to help.
  4. Good luck tomorrow. And welcome. Nothing really to b nervous about. Everyone is different but I have had no pain, I had my surgery on the 6th and the only real pain I had was from my Iv, the three times they poked me and when they would give me medicine in it, it would burn so bad I would grab my arm. But other than that nothing. Let us know how u r doing. Good luck again!!
  5. I did lift my daughter once. But it was after it opened. And I toss and turn all night.
  6. When I woke up from surgery it was stapled, it's the big one in the middle it had five staples I think. They took out the staples the day I went home, which was 3 days later. But it didn't open till almost two weeks later. And I can't think why. I'm starting to get a little pain now. I think from it being opened over and over.
  7. I had my surgery on the 6th and I've been back at work since Thursday. Most of the time I'm good. Today I went home early. Tomorrow I'm going back to my surgeons, my main incision busted open last Sunday and was leaking really dark blood, I had it covered with a bandage that I was changing about every 4 -6 hours, then Wednesday I went to surgeon and had them cauterize it which closed it till Friday then it busted open again and now it's only bleeding a very little but it's open and I called today and asked them to possibly stitch or staple it closed. I didn't even know it opened till i saw the blood on my shirt, both times, because I have no pains.
  8. T-T, I hope stopping the shot stops the bleeding, praying for you. And all the power to your wife, she's a keeper. After I was released all I wanted to do was go home and rest. Prayers for both of you. I had my incision bust open 2 weeks after my surgery and wouldn't stop bleeding, it wasn't gushing, just kept bleeding. Had to change bandages like every two to three hours. I had to go back to dr and have them cauterize it but it finally stopped. And like you I have had no pain. Good luck to you again. Renee
  9. Good luck. And wishing a speedy recovery to you both!
  10. Good luck to everyone having surgery today!!!
  11. Go to Er or call advice nurse just to be sure. If nothing else call dr first thing Monday morning!!!
  12. Kloveburd. I hope you keep on the fluids. I'm so sorry you had to go back. I'm glad your better and hope you continue on the right path. Renee
  13. Hi pretty, I'm doing pretty good. First day post op was horrible. My stomach was swollen and anything I tried to take by mouth, came right back up. But after giving my stomach time to let the swelling go down, I have been great. Hardly any pain. From incisions or gas. I've only found one thing that my stomach does not like and they are boost high Protein very vanilla drinks. Other than that everything is great. Good luck on your diet. Renee
  14. WTG!! Congratulations!! Keep up the good work!!
  15. I went home with liquid norco 7.5/500. Hydrocodone/ acetaminophen it knocks me out as soon as I take it. Give me 5 minutes and I feel nothing and am in dream land for the next 6-8 hours. I try not to take it unless I'm really hurting and luckily I'm not in much pain.
  16. Omg. I feel the same. I want to eat but then I think I'm eating to much and I don't want to stretch my pouch. I forget to take sips and try to chug water then have pain till it passes. So much to get used to. And the Vitamins. I swear my friend asked if I was eating and I told her my vitamins count as at least 1 meal so I have eaten twice today. Oh the differences to get used to. I walk alot. But the pain medicine instantly knocks me out. But still happy about surgery. Just gotta get used to everything.
  17. Prayers for a safe surgery and speedy recovery!
  18. Wow first time eating food. Not so comfortable. I did not chew good. Kinda painful. Lesson learned.
