June Post Ops!
Dearest ABA9903, Thanks for that response, I am touched you enjoy reading my posts . I stay positive because I have a great personal support system between family, friends and co-workers. The one thing with the program at Bryn Mawr is that it is very concise and they prepare you both mentally and physically for this journey. A visit to my surgeon is like a pep talk and all the members of his team are like my own personal cheering squad!, seriously I have NEVER had a bad visit. And the Bariactric Center in the hospital was awesome, when you walk down the halls ever Nurse, technician, orderly, doctor , Admin personnel cheer you on, its great ! I believe that if all of us try to just go out of our way and spend two minutes to be nice to someone who is have a bad go at it on that particular day , the world would be such a better place to live. I truly hope and know in my heart that if you are on this site posting some good will come out of it for all of us . there are so many people who have helped me with words of encouragement or great suggestions. I just want to pass it on in the hope the next person will do the same. Thanks again, Have a great day Peace out RJ

AshleyMichelle, FYI. I have found that Vanilla protien powder, CVS sugarfee orange flavored fiber and a handful of frozen rasberries or blue berries. shredded and mixed in a blender is a flavorful drink. it has everything! RJ- June surgeries!
FLUFFYMOM, Thats excellent, your in the right frame of mind. stay positive and stay focused see you on the other side. Best wishs for Friday RJ- June Post Ops!
Baconville, CONGRATULATIONS , Welcome to the other side...Hope your recovery is quick and painless as possible. RJ- June Post Ops!
Are you having some thing close to your bed time? it dose not have to be alot of food , preferably high protien . since your asleep for eight hours you need something light to get you throught the night . ( my personal opinion ) If it persists check with your surgeon RJ- June surgeries!
Baconville, Don't get freaked out! your in good hands, this is not their first time at the rodeo. RJ- June surgeries!
Purplecarnation , I am in the same boat as you on the not having any feeling of fullness ( mine also is hunger ) my Surgeon said this is perfectly normal , They told me just make sure im measuring my fluid intake and one indicator if you are getting close ( over 2oz. ) is you will belch! Now that i measure all of my fluids I feel fine and somewhat in control of whats going on ! GAS ..Humm not sure about that, didnt have that issue , Ask your surgeon Constipated , I was told to add fiber to my meals to promote regularity ( it works ) but again, check with your surgeon Hope you feel better soon RJ- June surgeries!
Jeep chick42, It will move, your body is in turmoil, give it time the weight will start to fly off so fast people will have to duck! RJ- June surgeries!
Be careful it is G3 - Gatorade .... not any of the others!!!! Its in a twisted looking bottle and han has RECOVER pronted on this PLEASE BE CAREFUL ... Most convience stores carry G2.... huge diffrence- June surgeries!
Hello hek1127, A drink my nut recommended for something that is tasty and you can carry ( i commute to work here in Philly) and has 16 gr of protien and counts towards your fluids is Gatorade G3.... found it at target for $1.59 per bottle its not bad ...kiwi strawberry has a " unique" taste. but the other flavors are not bad. hope this helps :-) RJ- June Post Ops!
bjroberts, tried. 98 % fat free cream of chiken soup today, put it in a blender and added 1 scoop of unflavored protien powder (18 grams of protien) and a touch of ceyanne pepper for some zing! first of all it was excellent and secondly the protien powder made it thicker and did not effect the taste...this goes on my permant shopping list! oh and a tip i picked up from another RNY Talk member that really works is get some baby spoons. it defintly takes you longer to eat your soup! got ones that look cool they are called "Munchkins" 6 for $2.99 have a great evening RJ- June Post Ops!

Sip By Sip.....Take your time and "TRY" to get in all of you fluids and protien. while this is very important it may take you a day os too to get into the groove. be patient....this is s learning process im 8 days post-op and just learned last night that since the nerves in your pouch are not really active "yet"..... a good indicator of fullness is belching. just measure out your shakes, water etc. and just a sip or two then wait. my surgeon has in my pre op book i should be able to intake 6 oz of water per hour if i sip it.....check with you instructions/surgeon for their expectations.... good luck. keep us posted. RJ PS: WELCOME! to the other side- June surgeries!
Socalma, Congratulations , You'll be fine , this is not the first time for your team and if you follow what instructions they give you post -op you will get through it . Just rember to walk walk walk when they allow you to it helps relieve the pain and works out the gas . Best of luck to you RJ Post -op 7 days - June Post Ops!
