  8. Just tried soft teriaki beef jerky yesterday ( NUt recommended ) . had to wade through what seemed like 500 brands but found one that was in small bite size portions , low sodium had 12 grams of protien 3 grams of fat 18 carbs and actually tasted great , had to chew it for what seemed like hours but in the end no problems. Im sure you will hit on a combo of food you will like , I have 2 healthy choice steam entrees in my fridge in terrified to try ;_ ) . Never thought i would not want to eat ... for now im hitting my numbers and that is all that matters ill worry about the rest later . Good to hear the crispy thing is working for you, now want a plain rice cake ,,,, how sick is that :-) Have a great week ... as always, your awesome !! and keep rocking the weight loss you hottie RJ
  9. My Nut will never admit this but she does allow 1 cup of coffee in the morning but you CANNOT take your Iron supplement for several more hours. Caffeine retards the absorption of iron into your system. also it decreases appetite and can cause dehydration . I address these issue by eating on a schedule rather than when im actually hungry. force the 64 oz Water into my daily schedule. and take my iron supplement at night Also some of the reasons i may not have issues is i drink it several hours after my Breakfast and Vitamins , also i take my coffee black , no cream , no sugar. and my surgeon has me on a med for anti acid and ulcer preventive im sure that helps also.........so far so good, be careful
  10. I have attached some pics of the container if that helps, its also a makes great substitute for sour cream.
  11. here is a kitchen treat tip : Plain or Vanilla Greek yogurt + Crystal lite lemonade powder = lemon Meringue My eyes rolled into the back of my head it was soooo good not bad for 18 grams of protien 15 calories and 0 fat yipee
  12. I tied an experiment since my last post and its baked products for sure. Im good with food but if i take so much as one bite of bread or any thing close to it. toasted or untoasted my pouch rejects it. well check that off my list for the next few months. at least now i know.
  13. Thanks Sara Beth, i was starting to think it was just me. im actually doing well with soft foods refried beans. veggie chili. its the " real food" that is problematic, and i chew it until it a pureed consistance. i think it may be baked products? breads, tortillas not sure why but it appears when ever i have an issue some baked was involved. im going to stay away from them this week amd see what happens. Just to be clear im talking about one small bite and im feeling it.
  14. Yep having the same thing , half of a small banana ( pulverized) is like a thanksgiving dinner ... went grocery shopping 3 weeks ago and have no need in the foreseeable future to go again. I have cut my grocery bill by 3/4 easily... not to mention the saving from not getting takeout for lunch of on the weekends
  15. Still having a problem with the 30/30 rule ....i just forget and go on reflex. it just screws up the timing. then i feel too full not alot of extra room down in le pouch. end up feeling sick for 15 minutes until i can belch (sorry). over the past two days i had a sucessful incident free meal yesterday. today brain wanted water....stupid brain
  16. You can do this! your awesome...think of your goal....you want this!!! ill think of you this AM on my walk and flow some exercise vibes your way! I picked up a 10 dollars pedometer at Target to get an idea how much i actually walk a day. found out i walk approx two miles a day at work! this little device will help me push mysel further every day. Have a great day..... RJ
  17. You need to do it from a PC or Laptop. Add the picture to your gallery and then you can attach it on your quote its in the tool bar above the quote
  18. I have stayed vegeterian since surgery and have remained that way even thought i have started back to "real food". But tonight i got a bug up my ass i wanted cream of chicken soup........BIG MISTAKE!!!! took me two hours to feel normal. I only had 2 tablespoons. My pouch is pissed at me tonight! I can now scratch chicken soup off my friendly food list. Im sticking with vegeterian for the forseeable future.
  19. ALMOST @ THE BEGINNING, My best wishes and prayers are with you on the beginning of your post-op journey . Its hard to put into words what you are about to go through. Its very empowering, sometimes overwhelming, but in the end worth ever single thing you have and will go through. My tips would be the normal ones you will hear; 1) Walk as much as possible in and after the hospital during the early weeks . in fact walk, you butt off , it truly makes a difference in healing and gas pain right after surgery. ( get a good pair of sneakers , you'll need them and it makes a difference is you have comfortable footwear) 2) be prepared for the return home , stock up on fluids, protien, Vitamins, band-aids, rent movies, and all of the others items your surgical team recommended . you will not want to get out much during the early weeks except to walk and you may be tired after that . 3) set yourself a schedule , walking eating , fluids ... its sucks but if you start off on the right foot it becomes second nature quickly. 4) if something doesn't feel right call your surgical team, there are no stupid or silly question, they want you to be healthy and successful that's what they are there for. 5) Hydrate constantly, try to get all of your protien in, The rest you will learn as you go, if you need advise or support just ask we are all here for you Best Regards RJ Surgery June 12, 2013
