  1. I went to same place you are going, only different doctor. Pre op is only 2 days of Clear liquids.
  2. How long is this gas gonna last? My surgery was Oct 9 and I am still so gassy.
  3. Go to ER...better be safe than sorry. Let us know what ER says.
  4. I have UHC. They do require 6 months of supervised nutrition classes. BUT I got mine approved after 4 months. I had my lady doc and family doc sign off on me because we had discussed weight issues in prior appointments. Make sure you get the "doctor sign appointment" sheet and expense sheet from Optum. Message me if you want more details.
  5. Just got home from hospital and I feel so bloated and full of gas. I did get a good night sleep. My body and mind needed some rest.
  6. Surgery went great Wed. Still in the hospital until sometime today (Friday). Be prepared for gas pains. The are horrible. My belly is hard as a rock, until I let loose. Remember to walk walk walk!
  7. Feeling some pain. Been on several walks and getting my fluids in.
  8. Where are you going in Indy? I am at IU North. Had my procedure yesterday.

  10. Mine surgery is tomorrow at noon. Less than 24 hours to go!
  11. This time tomorrow I will be at the hospital waiting for my surgery at noon. Can not wait to sit on the losers bench. May the recovery gods be on my side tomorrow.
  12. My bypass is this Wed. My bed is upstairs. Will I be able to climb the steps or do I need to make a bed in my recliner downstairs? I am trying to get everything clean and in order while I am in the hospital so I do not have to worry about it when I get home.

  14. After tomorrow I start my clear liquids for my surgery Wed. I am getting emotional thinking about all the foods I can not eat anymore. Seems like I am going through a grief process.
  15. I am going to IU North. As far as the facility, they have no liquid diet, but my surgeon will put me on one prior to surgery but I think it is for 2-3 days. I meet with him on Oct 2 and surgery is Oct 9.

  17. Just got the call....my surgery is October 9.
  18. This morning I got EKG, pulse test, blood drawn for labs, urine test , blood pressure, chest X-ray and then the last thing was to speak with hospitalist. He gives you clearance for surgery. My insurance previously was approved. NOW, test results go to Dr Mattar (same office as your doc) and then the surgery date will be set. PLUS the all day workshop/class date will be set. I am hoping by Friday if this week, I will get a call regarding dates. Do you live near Indy?

  20. I found out that my surgeon sent all my paperwork to my insurance company today. Anyone else have United Health Care? How long was your approval process?
