  1. Optifast shake... yum ( said sarcastically ).
  2. That's exactly what mine said. Hunger for those after surgery means dehydration.
  3. I met with my dr. Yesterday and he was telling me his practice hasn't done a band in 2 years and about 95% of band pts are asking to be revised. I have had mine for five years and was shocked to hear im not the only band " failure". It made me feel better.
  4. Correction : if you ate 1058 calories a day not 1258. Remember 3500 calories burned is a lb so 500 times seven days is 3500. Hence the lb. Hope this helps!
  5. Ok that's not as bad. Resting metabolic weight is how many calories it takes to sustain normal function ( stay the same weight) if you don't do anything. Conceivably it means you would lose a lb a week if you ate 1258 calories a day with no exercise. I would just keep doing what u r doing and know it will come off. Sometimes bodies go into " fight" mode after surgery so don't worry. To raise your Rmr you eat Protein and do strength training. High RMR is good!
  6. This is ny second too. I had the band in 2008 and am getting RNY on june 12th
  7. Bless your heart!! Im glad u r doing better now.
  8. How was it a doozy? I am getting my revision in a month and getting more and more nervous. I started liquids today.
  9. I decided earlier this year to take mine out and revise due to recurring acid reflux and now intestinal metaplasia of my stomach. I too was / am scared but came to the conclusion it is the right decision for me after looking at a lot if peer reviewed studies regarding the pros and cons to the surgery. I wish you luck in your journey in discovering what is best for you.
  10. I start my pre op diet Tuesday. I have to do it for a month before my revision surgery from band to RNY in june 12th. It is 800 calories of liquid ( optifast ). I am most worried about missing my daily salad consisting of greens, cucumber, tomatoes and white balsamic vinegar. Im not worried about missing junk just fruits and vegetables. Sad.
  11. Congratulations on setting your date! First off don't let other people and their ignorance cause you any pain. I wonder why people think surgery is the easy way out? When in reality it is one of the hardest decisions I have ever made.
  12. Im saying a special prayer for you now. All will be perfect! I can't wait to hear how it goes.
  13. I have to do optifast. Not looking forward to it as I tried optifast for six months and lost...wait for it. 16 lbs. But if it prepares me I am game.
  14. I would like a place to travel k taking vitamins, similar to the water tracking. Also tracking exercise should not increase calories.
  15. Do you know if imitrex is still allowed post surgery?
  16. Almost there! Are you getting excited? How long was your liquid diet beforehand? I have to do a month. Im so worried they will take the band and not be able to do the RNY.
  17. I start mine Tuesday and will be on it a month before surgery. Im a little nervous to start on Tuesday.
  18. Wow. Bless your heart! I have never been able to get pregnant and am hoping surgery helps. Im already forty so time is almost up for me. Im praying it happens at the end of year one. Were u fertile beforehand? Or did u have any issues with fertility?
