  1. The water weight from last weeks surgery is gone! Anything else that goes is all me. :-)
  2. You'll get two meals out of it. :-)
  3. I'll just have to bite my tongue and keep my sense of humor. Now I'm waiting for her to tell my sister-in-law. She is a know-it-all with a nasty streak. I knew it would eventually come out. All I really needed, and got, was for the ignorance and nastiness to wait till AFTER my surgery. Don't get me wrong. My husband's family would do anything for me, except mind their own business, but it always comes at a price. (((Roll eyes)))
  4. I think crab is sweeter with slightly different texture. Crab with chopped celery, cracked pepper, and a little mayo... Yummy!
  5. My daughter accidentally spilled the beans to my mother-in-law! Darn! Darn!!! Darn!!!!! She came over to give me the third degree. Then she asked me how much fat they took out of me and what I weigh now?????? (Shaking my head) I think she's thinking liposuction. So I tried to explain it to her. The closest thing she could come up with was heart surgery. (Shake my head some more). So now she wants to cook me some food (that I can't have). When I told her I need to be on liquids for now she nodded and said 'another fad diet' (pulling my hair out). Today she called to ask me why I didn't just do weight watchers since I once lost 50lbs on it 20yrs ago. (Someone just shoot me now...)
  6. Crab sounds great! Was it soup? :-)
  7. I won't miss the horror of exposing my jiggly fat arms and 'cankles' the first time it gets warm. It takes a little while to adjust to that embarrassment. I won't miss hiding out in the air conditioned house when I'm no t working because the heat damn near kills me. And, like you, I won't miss wearing long pants when it's hot to hide my hideous legs! And I won't miss dreading the time of year that normal people look forward to, and praying fall comes quickly.
  8. Ditto soup. Roasted red pepper tomato, strained.
  9. I have to crush everything for one month. After that I can swallow pills the size of a Tylenol tablet. Anything larger needs to be cut in half.
  10. Lucky you! I paid $3 for three and that was a sale price!
  11. Jackie, how are you doing aside from the gas?
  12. I am four days post op. Weight day of surgery was 220lbs, weight after was 233lbs. Today I weigh 229lbs. The extra weight was from all the fluids they gave me during and after surgery. I am dealing with gas issues right now - not painfull, just loud. Post op pain is minimal.
  13. Does anyone know how long the gas lasts? I'm not finding it painfull but I am loudly percolating and gurgling like crazy. I'm breaking wind but that doesn't slow it down any.
  14. Me too on the gas. My insides are loudly percolating and left side high near my shoulder is painfull. Had severe pain in that spot while in the hospital and the nurse assured me it was gas. He said those pains can turn up in different areas on different people. The percolating started yesterday morning (third day out). Does anyone know how long the gas lasts?
  15. Did they rule out blood clot? That's my biggest fear.
  16. I don't think your surgeon would clear you for work either. You would still be on narcotic medications, and you will have driving and physical restrictions. Generally you need 2-4 weeks for recovery, although my surgeon leans more towards 3 weeks. This is major abdominal surgery!
  17. How is your back Dorian? Any improvement yet?
