Selfies
I was on a no carb diet only meat and lion starchy veggies, Water and low carb Protein shakes made with water until I reached goal. This was per surgeon and dieticians orders along with weight training and cardio. I did weight training every other day 5 days a week and cardio daily 5 days a week with weekends off. Once I reached goal at 9 months I slowly introduced fruits, starchy veggies and whole grain carbs like whole grain brown rice and whole grain pasta. I am 1 year 5 months out and I still have not had bread at all and I do not plan on ever eating any! My personal choice not my dr.s. I made sure I didn't stray from my diet and make sure that I stay on my plan daily. It's not a diet for me it's a new clean way of eating! I figure as little as I eat I need to make sure I eat the best of the best and not junk!! That is how I personally got to goal and how I got my body in the best shape! I also just had plastic surgery 8 weeks ago to get rid of extra skin I had on my arms and stomach and to fix my deflated breasts!! And I don't regret it one bit!!!

Does excercise help with excess skin?
@aroundhky... Nice mildly inappropriate pic! Lol! I think it all depends on your genetics, how much you tone and weight train while loosing and how much you have to loose in certain areas! For example, my stomach wasn't huge before my RNY but my arms were, therefore when I lost my weight no matter how much weight training I did my stomach looked pretty good with minimal skin where as my arms had horrible bat wings, no matter how much I worked them out!! Also, I have really dry skin... Maybe that played a part, I'm not sure! You will never know how your body will react to weight loss until it happens.

Arm lift / brachioplasty
I would definitely suggest having someone help you! I needed help and was told not to use my arms for anything the first week! All surgeons are all different though so go by what your surgeon says. After that I was only allowed to dress myself use the bathroom and eat the second and third week. I could drive the fourth and lift nothing heavier than a gallon of milk! I think my surgeon is a bit per cautious! I am going to be 7 weeks post op tomorrow and am just now not having pain in my arms! Although when I reach it still hurts! I definitely needed the help big time in the beginning! I had drains in for a week and I definitely could not wipe myself after going to the bathroom, thank goodness I had my husband and sister there to help me! It will hurt, but if you stay on top of your pain meds it is tolerable and after a few days you should be fine! Also, don't freak out if at first your compression garments don't fit! My arms were soo swollen that I couldn't we're them for a good two weeks!

Breast Augmentation with cancer history in the family?
I'm at high risk for breast cancer.. 2 of my sisters have had it, one twice, my grandmother, great grandmother etc. neg. for the brca gene. I get a mamo every year along with an ultrasound.. I was told getting implants under muscle won't effect mamo they just take more slides.. And if all else fails they can do an MRI !!

How about your jewelry (rings) after surgery?
I tried the ring guards, both metal and clear plastic.. The plastic kept turning and also it would turn and slip off and it pissed me off and looked very cheep on my almost ten thousand dollar rings!!! The metal worked better for a short time but if you wear your rings all the time like I do ( to bed I mean) the metal get too warm and since it's very thin it will warp and push down and then you are in the same situation as before. I have been fighting with my jeweler because I bought a policy with my rings invade something happens to them they fix them for free or replace stones etc. it also includes free repairs and sizing. When the sized them down from a 7 1/2 to a 5 the kept the gold. If I needed them sized back up to an 8 let's say it wouldn't cost a penny... However to add the bumps or add extra gold to raise it higher because they can't size it smaller they want to charge me $100 !!! And I have a big problem with that!!!

Feeling dizzy and faint
I had this problem for quite a few ( like 4 or 5 months) after my RNY ! It eventually went away. Never did find out exactly what it was however when I was in the hospital my blood sugar drop extremely low like in the 30's quite a few times. I bought a home diabetes monitor kit and noticed when I felt like that my sugar was always really low. Eventually I started to feel normal again and it went away. I didn't have diabetes or pre-diabetes prior to RNY either. 7 weeks ago I had major plastic surgery (8 hrs in the OR) the feeling came back!!! I would get up in the morning go to the bathroom and feel dizzy, clammy and like I was going to pass out! My husband would sit me down and give me a half a banana with some peanut butter and within minutes I felt back to my old self! So I assume again it's my blood sugar too low ! Something about having the bypass and subsequent surgeries must upset my blood sugar!!!

How about your jewelry (rings) after surgery?
I am having that problem as well ! I originally wore a size 7 1/2 and after I lost all my weight my ring size is down to a size 4 1/4. They told me after sizing it down to a 5 that they cannot size it any lower or it will loose the integrity of the ring and the stones will start to fall out and that I can either get the bumps put it or add gold to the band to raise it up. I haven't done either one yet.

lower body lift
I did not have a lower body lift but I had an extended tummy tuck with muscles seen back together, breast lift with implants and arm lifts and I would say I wouldn't have felt ready to go back to work at a desk job until at the very minimum 4 weeks for what I had done. I don't work so I couldn't really say.

tummy tuck
Congrats!! Hope all goes well for you! I just had my extended TT 6 weeks ago.

Any experience with breast lift?
I just had a breast lift with implants 6 weeks ago. As one mentioned in a previous post, I went from a 40DD to not even able to fill a 32B and my surgeon told me I didn't have enough breast tissue left to just do a lift so I would have to have implants. He suggested the new cohesive gel(gummy bear) because saline ripples and I am very petite 4'10" and 110lbs and ripples will show in a very petite and thin frame with no breast tissue! I'm extremely glad I listened to him and got the implants!! I feel like my old self again and never really realized how much my breasts were "apart of me" until I had them back!

Surgery this morning BA/BL, arm lift and full tummy tuck!
Thanks! I'm trying to just be patient right now and wait to see how things turn out, which is hard to do! Atleast I have the peace of mind knowing that if things don't work out right he will make them right! Keeping my fingers crossed they work themselves out!!!!

Surgery this morning BA/BL, arm lift and full tummy tuck!
Also noticed that I have some loose skin above my nipple in the lower breast... Not happy at all about that : ( I called the surgeons nurse and she said to give it time to see if it fills out once they drop and if they both are the same if not I may need a revision and another lift on that side. I told her I have no more money!!! She said, "oh honey, don't worry! The Dr. won't be charging you" that was such a relief! I still hope everything corrects itself, I don't want another surgery!

Surgery this morning BA/BL, arm lift and full tummy tuck!
Been massaging my scars daily and have been hearing and feeling little pop sounds? I hope this is normal !! Also this morning I woke up and one of my breast was a tad bit lower than the other? I wonder if that means one is dropping faster than the other?
