  1. Great job on your first month! Your loss is amazing! I love reading your posts!
  2. Hope you feel better soon..
  3. I had my surgery in March 2013. I decided only to tell my husband, my parents, and my stepdaughter. Everything went well...at first. Then complications arose and I was in icu for several days and then after a week out of the hospital I was back in for a leak for 16 more days. Needless to say people found out. Mostly because my mom who came to help out started posting crap on Facebook. Not everyone knew what surgery I had just that I had a surgery. Ultimately I have a handful of friends I told and a couple family members. Good luck to you whatever you may decide.
  4. Thought I'd check in again Haven't been dropping any weight lately, but just started working out and lifting weights. Gonna give it some time. I have an appointment this week to get my vitamin and mineral levels checked. Concerned something might be going on as I am now bruising severely bad all over my body. Just want to make sure everything is on track. Hope everyone is doing well!
  5. Praying for you. I hope everything is all healed up.

  10. I am so the same Marfar7. I try not to even eat out anymore because I waste so much. Glad your first meal went great!
  11. Omg that is awful! I am glad you are seeing the doctor today!! Keep us updated!
  12. I hope you are feeling better. I would absolutely go get checked if you feel any worse or if it continues. I don't know if I'd travel that far to get checked but that's a personal call. I hope your recovery goes much better
  13. Honestly I was hurting so bad I don't remember if it was a constant or off and on. I didn't feel like I had a fever at first but I ran a pretty high one in the hospital. I tried to suck up the pain for a few days and just take my pain meds, but it kept breaking through the meds. After one sleepless night I called my nurse practitioner. He said it was probably just residual pain from the surgery and it should get better. The next night the same thing. Couldn't sleep..so much pain, literally moaning myself to sleep and waking back up in pain. That morning I went to the ER. After all their tests I ended up in the hospital for 16 more days on tpn (iv nutrition) lots of pain meds, antibiotics for two entire weeks to get rid of the infection, and an accordion drain I even came home with. If I hadn't gone in when I did...well I don't know what would be. My thought process is this..if you think something is wrong it is best to get it checked.
  14. I took panties, menstrual pads, lip balm, phone charger, and phone. That was pretty much all I needed. They supplied personal hygiene for me. Best of luck with your surgery.
  15. Guess I replied before reading your response. I'm glad you have been feeling better.
  16. When I came home from the hospital I also had a similar sounding pain. However mine turned out to be a leak with an abscess and infection. I am surprised they are not asking you to go get checked. If I wouldn't have went to the emergency room and had a ct and MRI they would not have found my leak.
  17. Thank you all. It's been a tough week for myself and friend. Her father passed away the same way my brother did, by taking them off life support. So many old feelings started coming up. I spent so many days in the hospital that the only safe thing to eat was really protein shakes. Trying to work myself back onto food after a week of straight shakes.
  18. Congratulations on your loss!!! Never ever ever ever would I have thought that I'd be like this today. What a great new life we have!
  19. Hit 101 pounds lost as of today. So proud.
  20. Thanks for updating us. Do you know how long you will have the tube in for? Stay strong.
  21. Today officially marks 100 pounds lost. I should be jumping for joy. I waited for this day. I was so excited for it. I've spent the last four days at the hospital with one of my best friends while her father was dying. She is young, only 25. I'm more like her stepmother. She lived with my husband and myself for the last year. It just kills me to see her going through this pain. They had to remove him from life support. I'm just so drained and so sad that I just can't celebrate this loss. :/
  22. Not only can I cross my legs very comfortably, but I can cross them both ways!!! Never did that before!
