I also have met my deductible and was scheduled for Surgery Nov 30th, when Insurance denied Surgery because I needed a 60 day diet and exercise program, however when I called my Ins in Aug I was told it wasn't required, so now I must meet my deductible again. Frustrated but not defeated. ALSA'S office has been great and taking the class through them now. I had my first class Nov 30, the 2nd class was Dec 3rd so it will go quick. My last Appt is 4/5/13. I have gone to a few meetings.

How many users are from the Fresno Ca. area and go to ALSA? I Love their knowledge and skill, and very fortunate to be a client of theirs.

I also go to ALSA but have Dr Boone. They are the best. Yours is soon, good luck to you. Mine will be April or early May after my diet and exercise class, final Dr. Appointment 4/5/13.

My Employer funds my HSA account $1600.00 and I fund it $1800.00 so I shouldn't have to pay out of pocket I hope, but if I do I will just have to grin and bear it. Ins said I met all other qualifications and I do not have to redo any of my medical or tests, so hopefully approval is painless. Thanks for your support.

I believe April or May, my last Dr. visit is 4/5/13. Well we were all set for Surgery this Month until the Insurance Company called and said I needed a mandatory 6 Month Diet and Exercise program. I don't understand how when I called the benefits department in Aug they didn't know about this requirement, but all my paperwork from the Surgeon goes in for approval and Walla this missed requirement is now my denial for Surgery. I attended my first class Nov. 30th and my second class Dec 3rd, have 4 to go. My final meeting with Surgeon is April 5th so hopefully Surgery soon afterwards. The kicker for me is my deductible has been met for this year, now with this extension I must meet a $3000.00 again. Frustrated but not defeated. Good day all.

I would like to be a 7-8. My Surgery is April or May after my 6 month diet and exercise requirement is complete. I am a 20-22 now. I really want to be healthy, I will take what ever my results end at, but I will give it my all to get there. Good luck to you all.

No it actually was not a new requirement, but apparently when I called the benefits Dept in late Aug. they are not aware of the requirement or this gal I spoke with didn't know. I would have started right away had I known. I am down but not defeated.
