  1. OMG Hilary I thought the same thing! How did this time seem to go by so slow and then all of a sudden WHAM...it is here! I am 90% excited and 10% nervous, but only because I have never had ANY type of surgery before. Little worried about being in the hospital without my hubby (he is dropping me off because we have 3 kids), but I feel better since I found a couple of people who will be walking the halls with me either the same day or the next day. I already picked up all my meds too I couldn't be more prepared....just nervous about the unknown, and Hungry.
  2. Keep up the great work! You look AMAZING! I hope my results are as good as yours!
  3. Hang in there! Enjoy the holidays and spend the extra time getting prepared See you on the losing side!
  4. Are you food journaling? Remember that a plateau is normal and I KNOW you will get through this! Drink lots of water. Best of luck!
  5. Now she lost 90 lbs with the sleeve, but she works out like a maniac She thinks that both are an effective tool but she is still 10 lbs from her goal. I start my 5 day liquid diet and bowel prep on Wed! I am 100% sure the bypass is the best option for me I want to lose 100-130lbs.
  6. So I have been experimenting with some protein shake recipes. Bless the hubby who let me use him to as a taste tester. Take 2 scoops of powder & mix up standard shake or do what I do and use a premade shake. Add 1 cup ice. Add 1 tsp sugar free pudding or jello to flavor. Add a drop of either butter extract or vanilla extract. Blend...so yummy we did Choclate Strawberry (w/butter), and Chocoholic with sugar free chocolate syrup and vanilla extract both 4-4 1/2 stars out of 5 per the hubby :)Will post other combos we liked later.
  7. One of my friends who had the sleeve told me just today she wished she had done the bypass. I am having my bypass done Nov 26th! So excited and confident in the decision. Decide which makes you feel confident in your decision and then stick with it Best of luck!
  8. I found this posting from someone who got Implanon after she had bypass just because it was more effective for you. She was on thinnertimes.com. I am sending the link to you via message because it won't let me post. But it sounds like it will be fine. Hope this helps
  9. I am having family pictures done about 5 weeks after surgery I am excited to see what that will be! Any loss will be a good thing I am so excited now. How you doing HaJones?
  10. Where do I buy Magnesium Citrate for my bowel prep?
  11. You guys are so great and positive! I have gotten over my 24 hour freak out! I am back to feeling perky and optimistic about my surgery! Woo Hoo November 26th here I go!
  12. I am with Hajones having my surgery in Pensacola with Dr Friedman on NOV 26th.
  13. Yeah today seems to be my freak out day! I have been so calm, relaxed and excited. Today I think I will try to stay busy because I am just really worried about failing even with this. I am guessing I just need a "hug". HaJones and I will be walking the halls together so that is making me a little less nervous since I will be in the hospital with no hubby/friends/family staying with me. Lisa is my surgery buddy too Surgery at 935am 26 Nov. Not worried anything will happen just the unknown and failing ...I think.
  14. My surgery is the 26th and I start a 5 day clear liquids with 3 days of protien shakes allowed. Sat & Sunday are "bowel prep" with no protien. I have my Preop on Wed and it is the same day as my 1st day of preop diet. I guess it will keep me too busy to care about eating? Especially since I will spend about 3 hours in the car that day going back and forth. The nerves have arrived today. I am trying to stay busy and distracted. The hubby and I are cleaning the house top to bottom and I am painting some projects for Christmas. I have never had ANY type of surgery before except my wisdom teeth so I think that is what is getting to me. In the meantime I have a knotted ball the size of a bowling ball in my gut from anxiety. The surgical process has been so easy for me to get through it is rediculous. I had my 1st appointment Oct 25th but I had already done all my bloodwork, xrays, and psych. I went to Nutrition on Oct 28th or so. I went to preop class and was submitted on 10/29 and approved on Nov 2nd. I already know my surgery is at 935 am on Nov 26th. Maybe I am just waiting for something to go wrong since it was so easy? I know that losing 5 lbs for me is a struggle so I can't even picture losing more than that. Or my nerves might just be shot? The only problem I have had is finding ways to make the protien taste better and finding one I can stand. I finally did that...What is my problem???? 15. Unjury has a form you fill out for some samples I haven't got them yet...but they have a chat tech talk to you to do it. Plus you can buy individual packets and shakes at GNC for Total Lean.
  16. I am having surgery on Nov 26th at 9:35am with Dr Freidman. Sounds like we will be hall buddies! Please keep in touch and feel free to share/ask anything. I found my protein drink today and I am feeling a little stupid about being so excited but after I had one that tasted like I licked cement I was on a mission! If you are still looking I recommend GNC's 25 lean shakes ( I tried french vanilla) really yummy it is on sale for a better price premixed right now than the powder it has 25 grams of protein and the calories and sugar aren't bad. I talked to some of my friends today about their post-surgery life. I was frankly a bit shocked. While one of my friends works out and has lost a ton of weight with the sleeve (works out A LOT) another of mine has started to regain on the sleeve, 1 of them has lost 60 lbs in 2 months since her bypass and another has dumping everyday because she still eats whatever she wants. Well hope to see you on the losing side. My preop appointment is the day before thanksgiving 21st and I start liquid diet then. I am having Thanksgiving tomorrow at a work potluck for the hubby then I won't feel like I missed out.
  17. After a couple of misses I found the GNC 25 Lean today. French Vanilla very cold yummy. Ready made is on sale right now and you can try a single shake or packet before spending a ton of $. Plus for $15 you can get the GNC card and get 20% off every purchase. [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:343]
  18. I am going to Baptist Hospital Bariatric Center of Excellence in Pensacola. Seeing Dr Friedman. He is great.
  19. Whoops! Meant to say I start on the 21st with the diet
  20. Thanks I was thinking about ordering the sample pack on the 15th since I start my 5 day preop clear liquids and it boosts my confidence knowing you guys are doing well with them [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:343]
  21. I also noticed I live in Ft Walton and you live in PCB!
  22. My surgery date is the 26th too! I start liquid diet the day before Thanksgiving:) I have a plan and a state of mind! 1) I am staying out of the kitchen and high traffic food area, we are going to a friend so the family will be able to have the meal and I am traveling with popsicles, protien shakes, jello, and LOTS of broth. 2) I remember that if it wasn't Thanksgiving it would be Christmas, then Easter...ect... So this is a small sacrafice for the long term goals I have. 3) I am doing a potluck/replacement Thanksgiving on the 16th with some friends so I will not feel like I am missing out. Wishing us Both the best of luck and feel free to send me a message if you need support on my profile page we can be surgery buddies!
  23. Preop for me on Nov 21 surgery on Nov 26! Woot wOOT!
  24. The closer my surgery gets the more impatient I get with the stupid petty stuff. Nerves are normal. Just find some good outlets...for example: research the parts that are making you worry, I wrote a letter to myself to remind me why I want the surgery and what I currently can't do, get your nails done (or do them yourself), whatever relaxes you do it! Right now is probably when you will be feeling the most "out of control" because it is in the Dr's hands, but once it is over YOU have the control over what you eat and how you let others make you feel. Surround yourself in positive influences (people & food) and get rid of the JUNK (people and food) that are going to hold you back! Best Wishes and Good Luck! I think your nerves are probably a great sign that you care about what is going to happen to you. Now all of this is just my opinion, but I am, have been, and will be in your shoes and this is what I would want someone to tell me My surgery date is Nov 26th.
  25. I have been doing my reading, research, and starting to stock "My Cupboard". I am mostly packed for the hospital. I have cleaned out my whole wardrobe of "ugly" clothes and put aside my "too small" clothes for later. I am still really EXCITED about the surgery. I am also emotional! Everything that is a distraction in my life is wearing on my nerves. I am finally taking the time to take care of myself and I resent all the petty stuff that is distracting me. I just want to be relaxed and focused. Even working out I feel frustrated. At first I loved working out but the more I am "pushed" out of my comfort zone...ie until I am going to vomit. The more I don't want to be around them. So, I am going to try a couple of sessions at the gym by myself. I am hoping that this moodiness is just PMS and nerves. Ughhh.
