  1. So November 20 the bariatric team will review charts and decides who to approve for surgery.....stressing about NOT being approved and stressing about being approved AND THAN WAITING SOME MORE.......this feels endless:(
  2. Meatless meals? Aren't you worried about getting enough protein in? I am trying to do Atkins because I have metabolic syndrome....never thought it would be so hard to give up carbohydrates! Worse than quitting smoking!
  3. Dawn Thanks for the tips! I somehow have gotten into the habit of sleeping instead of eating.....I seriously need some activities that keep me distracted enough that I am not tempted to use or eat. Meditation makes me hungry but I like your idea of getting rid of the old cookbooks and starting a new collection.
  4. I like the ribbons:) I've also seen back pieces that look like awesome corsets....they cover just about everything! There is a picture somewhere of a lady who got a total lower so had scars all around...she did the vine and flowers and it looks great! I like Jenny's idea of the finger number.I was thinking about putting the amount I lose in the tail of peacock - it's a vanity thing
  5. One day at a time is the same motto we use at narcotics anonymous ....it's a good motto for just about everything.
  6. Happy 3 month anniversary! 90#s is an awesome amount! You're going to be my inspiration, thank you for letting me bug you about the details....this waiting stuff is hard!
  7. Yay the Northwest! I'm up by Olympia.....are you with Kaiser too?
  8. I can do the hard work....I just felt disappointed that the nutritionist wasn't more supportive.
  9. Do you think they will make you wait a few weeks or schedule you quickly? Happy for you!? and hoping to have the same news soon
  10. So how long between approval and surgeon's office? And congrats on a new July "birthday"! How are you doing?
  11. Yoga? Can heavier people get in those poses? I think I need to find a way to spike my dopamine levels in a non-addictive way. Any suggestions? I am still pre-op and stagger like a dying cow when I try to run.
  12. I just had my labs done a week ago and was totally surprised to find out that my case manager had ordered a UA toxicology screen for common drugs (both prescription and not). She had not mentioned it earlier.....
  13. Sorry.....Freudian slip there! I would like to make new friends, not smoke'em
  14. Thank you so much! Do you remember how long it was between case review approval and the surgeon's appointment? I am so afraid that my chances of having surgery this are; unlike me; slim to none
  15. I am brand new here and this sounds like a wonderful way to make smoke new friends! Feywriter@Yahoo.com
  16. What kind of coping techniques are you using? I am so tired of positive self talk....I just want to feel better without feeling worse afterwards...
  17. I don't understand the realistic expectations and the determination to lose a 100% of the excess weight. My nutritionist thinks that I am living in denial because I want to lose it all. How do you draw the line between unrealistic and possible with hard work?
  18. Hello - brand new to the site and I am wondering if anyone else is dealing with Kaiser Perm? I am so frustrated by all the hurry up and wait b.s. I was told to lose 10% of my total body weight and then my chart could go to the medical case review team. I lost the weight in six weeks but now have to wait another six weeks for the next scheduled case review day. Aaaaaarrrgh. What am I suppose to do while waiting? It is seriously making me nuts.
  19. Is anyone else concerned about substitute addictions? I worry about why I feel the need to replace overrating with overspending or a few more ativan than I really need. Does the complusion go away after surgery?
