Iowa-have size 20W to give away
It took about 2 weeks to get everything prepped to submit for my approval, as frustrating as it was being on this end thinking they just weren't getting their job done in a timely matter once it was submitted and approved in one shot I realized the prep work they were doing to assure it only took one time to get it approved. Trust me, once they get the green light it will fly by! The day I got the call that insurance approved everything they set up the final preop appointments and I had my surgery date... then I had my own personal freak out thinking it was moving to fast. It will happen soon and like everything in this process it takes amazing amounts of patience. Good luck!!

He is great! I need to start going to the support groups but I'm in Waterloo and with my work schedule I haven't been able to make it work yet.

What ya eating tonight?
I modified the Chicken Parmesan cupcakes from EmilyBites.com so I could use what I had on hand... ended up with Spinach and Turkey Parmesan cupcakes and they were DELICIOUS! Even the hubby thought they were great. Even better, 9.8 grams of protein in each and they were the perfect size

Friday Weigh-In!
- how long were you off work
I work retail and typically my shifts are 10 hours with a half hour break (which is the only time I can sit). I went back at 3 weeks and spent the first week feeling like it was way too soon. For one thing we were so busy it was hard to get my liquids in and because it was holiday season my half hour break was closer to 10 mins if I was lucky. I originally planned on being out 2 weeks but when it came time my husband put his foot down and I'm glad he did... just take your time, learn your new eating habits and focus on healing.- Friday Weigh-In!
SW 272 Day of surgery (11/30/12) 269 Today 199.7 Here's hoping it sticks, starting vacation after work tonight and I'm very nervous about traveling and being able to stick to my routine...- November 2012 Members Post Op
Thank you Jesus... finally broke down and bought new bras for the first time tonight... down 70+ lbs and my girls were starting a revolt...- Protein help again
Have you tried the Isopure vanilla or chocolate? The fruit flavored ones aren't good but I use vanilla/chocolate with sugar free Torani and decaf instant coffee... tastes like a frappachino- period and surgery
Lol... I was lucky enough to get mine the day before surgery... then I kept threatening my husband that I was going to keep wearing the super sexy hospital underwear once I got home... they were comfy!- MyFitnessPal.com Members
Feel free to add me! Lfrost77- Taco Soup
Morning Star has "beef" crumbles in the frozen section... when I've made it I've used ground turkey, too- November 2012 Members Post Op

I ended up getting Trubiotics by One a Day.... let's just say they are helping- Friday Weigh-In!
HW 272 SW (11/30/12) 269 Today 206- no appetite
I set alarms on my phone... if I don't eat/drink/take meds like I'm supposed to throughout the day I'm screwed by the end of it. Measure 1-2 ounces of food at a time and stick to your plan. Just because you aren't hungry doesn't mean your body doesn't need nutrition. I'm 2.5 months out and still don't get hungry. Plus it's easy on busy days to completely space off eating unless reminders are in place.- United Healthcare
Ugh! 2.5 months out and now I'm getting statements from my insurance company that I owe close to $6000 because my insurance doesn't cover gastric bypass... however they paid over $40,000 already for my procedure... I've completed and sent in my appeal along with their letter stating they would cover it so now I wait.... has anyone else had this issue? They repeatedly said the only portion I would pay was my deductible...- Probiotics
Has anyone else read about the benefits of adding probiotics after surgery? Repeatedly I've seen a write up about a study at Stanford and how beneficial it is to add a daily supplement. Just wondering if anyone has tried it or had it recommended.- November 2012 Members Post Op
