Oh my gosh that's awesome!! Where are you located?

I met with the surgeon today and finally got my date. I have to be o the hospital by 5am that morning. I have my pre op physical scheduled for the 2nd and I'm set to go! I finally know what month my surgery is and can join a board!! I'm just so excited I can't even stand it. So hello to all you April surgery goers. Good luck and I'm here for you.

I got it! I got it! It's APRIL 8th, at 7:15am. YAY!! I can't believe it. I finally got my date!

Ok I'm super nervous. Waiting for my appointment with my surgeon to get scheduled for surgery. It's at 2:15pm today. I haven't been following my diet for about a week because I've been violently ill. Luckily I haven't gained, but I haven't lost any either. So well see if he schedules me today or not. I pray to God that I get my date today. I've been waiting for this since July!! Wish me luck!!

So I saw my Surgeons nurse for a teaching appointment last Friday and we were discussing my Mirena and my concerns about its effectiveness after surgery and I asked if the Surgeon would consider doing a Tubal Ligation while I have my gastric bypass. She said to discuss this with him and see what he says. So I have that to look forward to finding out next Tuesday when I meet with him! That would be so great to have done since I have three children and we are absolutely done having more. Wish me luck!

It's taken me over 7 months to get my surgery date!!! I'm so jealous!

I started this process on July 27,2012. So it's been over 7 months for me. I caused a huge delay by gaining ten plus lbs back in December but its been forever it feels like!

Exactly! If only I could, I would raise hell but I can't and I won't. I need the job but it just isn't fair. I wish she had no say in this whatsoever. It chaps me. Oh well other things to worry about, it is only one week longer.

I would think so too but we are such a small company that we don't even have FMLA. I think they can get by with this stuff because they're so small.

My boss just keeps saying that this is on me because its ELECTIVE. I really don't need the surgery in her eyes.

Are you using your phone to get on here or a computer? Because I couldn't edit anything until I went on my computer and actually pulled up the website not the app. Then it gives you an option at the top right hand corner of your screen to edit your profile and gives you options on how to sign in and stuff.

Well I was on the March forum, as my surgeon was going to schedule me for sometime between the 25th-29th of March, but my boss just called and said she would not approve any time off for that week. She said I need to schedule surgery for the first week of April. This really makes me mad, this happened in Dec too. Only I gained ten lbs and its taken me this long to get back down to my goal weight to have surgery. Everything is all approved, I have a pre op teaching appointment with his nurse tomorrow and my pre op physical is set for the 21st. I meet with my surgeon to set surgery on the 19th. I will not have any set backs this time, it's only a week difference but I wish she didn't have say in this. Anyways, my name is Aimee. I'm from North Branch, MN. I am having surgery at Unity hospital in Fridley, MN hopefully the first week of April. Please add me to your list. And thanks for listening.

So my boss just called and said that she will not approve for me to have the week of the 25th off. I need to wait until the following week, to schedule my surgery. What a bummer! I really thought that it would happen in March. Oh we'll, I guess one more week doesn't really matter but she makes me mad! I want it done as soon as I can not when she says its ok. I guess if I want my job I will do as she says though. Ugh. So now I need to join the April dates. Sorry.

I am waiting to get my date 3/19. It'll be scheduled for sometime between the 25th- to the 29th. So I can be added too!

Hi all. I am 34 and pre op. my surgery is being scheduled on March 19th for the week of the 25th. I am so excited and can't wait but I too am scared for the life afterwards. I am so afraid of failing at this. I currently go to therapy for this and I hope it'll help!! Good luck to you all!!

I had my appointment with the PA today and got an appointment with the Surgeon for March 19th to schedule surgery, the week of the 25th!!! Pre op physical is scheduled too so now I just try to keep losing my weight and were all set! Can't believe I'm almost there. It's really been a long time coming.

Hello. I am from MN about 45 minutes north of the cities. I was struggling for months to lose my weight for surgery, but I finally buckled down and got serious about it. I'm now currently one lb away from my goal weight to have my surgery scheduled. So excited that its finally here! You can do it too. We can be RNY buddies together and keep each other updated. The P.A. I see for weight loss at my surgeons office, said that it is used for weight loss also. It's suppose to aide in weight loss, and the only side effects that are common with it are diarrhea and stomach aches. No low blood sugar. I know I lost 5.5 lbs last week and I'm at my lowest wt right now since I've started this. I do think the Metformin helped that because I was not sticking to the liquid diet and still lost that much weight. I've done Internet searches on it also, and mostly people said they thought they lost the weight because of the diarrhea they experienced. I have not experienced any though. I am not pre diabetic either. Not that I'm aware of. Lol. I'm bringing my daughter to her dr today and ill see if I can weigh myself and see where I'm at this week. Hopefully I'm still losing! I have cheated this week also but not as bad as last week. I've also stepped up my exercise to 45 minutes 4-5 days a week. Which consists of riding a stationary bike.
