Hey guys sorry it took a while to update... My surgery this part Thursday went awesome! *other than having a really bad experience with a rude nurse who I ended up putting a complaint on... Things went Well, pain management was good, started to walk and for the first day able to keep ice chips and sips of Water down. Yesterday I had horrible lower back pain so Dr ordered an antiinflammatory med. REally helped! I was moving about like nothing:) IV was taken out yesterday evening...however I woke up this Am a little dehydrated, nausea, and headache. So my original time of discharge was pushed out a few hrs. I had so much loving support from family and friends it was awesome.... My JP was taken out today and OMG that hurt like a bit** I actually screamed... I'm glad its out now, just gotta keep fresh gauze on it and dry. My steristrips are doing good ...Dr says my lives was gorgeous and wasn't a problem at all Will continue this clear liquid diet until I meet with the Dr on Tuesday again then switch to my 3 days of full liquids:) Long story short slowly but surely having a great recovery:) P.s had lost 15 lbs total pre- surgery:)

The day has finally came:) my surgery is in 5 hrs. Gotta check into hospital in3 hrs....oh my! I'm wide awake. Excite. Sacred, nervous, OMG!!

DOING THE HIGH LIQUID PROTEIN PRE OP DIET FOR ME WAS A LITTLE HARD! I FELT EXTREMELY GASY!!! I HAD TO ALWAYS TRY TO HIDE IN A CORNER OR IN THE BATHROOM!!! IT WAS HORRIBLE! MINE PLUS MY HUSBANDS, UGH!!!!

MY SURGERY IS TMORROW TOO!!!! 6/21 CHECKING IT AT 5AM FOR A 7AM SURGERY:) BEST OF LUCK!!!!

I love it!!!!! its good to know someone else is out there having the exact same surgery as me.... what time is yours? I have to be checked into the hospital by 5am. my surgery is at 7am. I will be checking for updates on here! so watch out for mine!!! where do u reside? im in minneapolis, mn

Hang in there. I used the protein shakes, the slimfast (generic). Broth, JELLO, water with Crystal light...try to avoid being around the temptation. Walk around.

Just had my last Protein Shake of the day. 2morrow is day 10 and I'm on the Clear Liquids only...then the magnesium citrate o_0 Hope it goes Well:) I can't believe the day is almost here (Thursday).... It was hard enough stayin and feeling full with the Protein Shakes, Jello, popsicles, Water, coffee and cream, broth... Oh my tomorrow will be difficult

Thanks!!! I will be having Laproscopic!!!! As the day gets closer I AM BOTH NERVIOUS AND EXCITED!! 6/21 will always be a special day I think I will take you up on ur advice about a counselor or therapist. I can definitely benefit from one and having access to this website will help out a lot~~

Welcome! I actually joined this website literally a few days ago via my cell phone> i was navigating in the app store for a protein tracker and this actually came up. now i use it more than facebook! I am scheduled for bypass on thursday 6/21. I have had so many questions about the diet and then after surgery but this website and also the many supportive ppl who have already gone thru the phases are very supportive!!! its like my online family~~~ i hope to hear from you and any of your supporting advice!

I felt the same way you did. Myhusband pretty much didnt say anything to me. I started my process in March and when I told him things at the seminar went good and that I wanted to proceed he said "your crazy, you dont need it" it did bother and hurt me a lot. I sat down with him and had a looooonnngggg talk with him. I todl him I was doing this for both of us. I wanted to be healthy for when we decided to conceive. Being overweight for many years was really hard on us when it came down to starting a family. I am the oldest of 5 and every one of my siblings has a famliy of their own. My grandma and other famil and friends would always ask us " so when are u having a baby" most didnt know that the reason I couldnt get pregnant was because I was obese and had endocrine issues. After explaing this to my husband he understood me better and was supportive the whole way.However now that my surgery is on Thurs 6/21 he is actaully been telling me he is not so sure i should have it. he mentioned he was afraid to lose me or to see me in pain. NO PAIN NO GAIN RIGHT?! after a while he will then say "well i guess your sticking with it, i cant force you to not do it" thankfully he is now coming to his senses and is more supportive especially now that i had been on the liquid diet ....he is sensible to the fact i cant eat as much and i am trying my best. he actually cooks for himself and eats when im not around or he will make chicken Soup and save me the broth:) he by the way is a very active hard working construction man. very fast metabolism~~~ Hope it all works out well for u and hopefully your husbands comes around. I have a feeling he will when he sees your putting in all your effort to stick to this~

i feel the same way! I told my husband I wanted to lift them if i felt they where going away... I would love to have them all nice and perky jajaja!!!

I really hope that your husband gets approved! Taking this journey together would be the best. Both you and him will be able to make healthier choices and support each other along the way!!! Crossing my fingers!!!!

Lol:) i love reading ur posts! I told my man the same.... Do u think we will lose or boobs? I love mine but could use a lift! And i dont have children yet!

THEN I DEFINITELY WILL NOT CHEAT. I FELT BAD TODAY THAT I EVEN FELT SICK TO MY STOMACH.... I FELT SO FULL AND I KNOW I DIDN'T PACE MYSELF .... I FOR SURE WILL STICK TO THESE 3DAYS OF PURE LIQUIDS I REALLY WANT MY SURGERY AND RECOVERY TO GO SMOOTHLY... WHAT KIND OF SURGERY DID YOU HAVE? THIS THURS. MY SURGERY WILL BE THE LAPROSCOPIC RNY.... I'M GLAD IT WON'T BE OPEN...
