  1. Yes I have that rule to - otherwise I eat less of the broth etc! I forgot once and saw the difference
  2. This is liquids so I think it's different. When I get to solids the amount drops a lot - they say now the liquids go through it do you need to eat more until I move to soft foods
  3. I was told approx 2 oz a meal - eat 4 times a day and sipping water the rest of the time
  4. I take my meds in pill form too- no problems at all
  5. None at all and that's what they gave me in the hospital. The cold feels good actually and the taste is great.
  6. Josee weren't those popscicles the best? I just had mine for breakfast. I got up went on my walk and had my popscicle- been a good day so far
  7. Walking! Get out and walk! When I start feeling the pain i know it's time for my 15 min walk. Sure enough pain abates and I feel happier. My surgery was 6/7. Give it a shot - walk slow but get out and move. I do it 4 times a day- goal is 6 times a day as dr suggested 4-6 times a day.
  8. Oh amount of broth is 2 oz and I eat over an hour
  9. I'm 4 day post op and on the clear liquid diet. I eat at each meal two of the following - fruit popscicle, sugar free Jello, watered down juice, broth (homemade chicken, vegetable, beef) or miso Soup. I have had no shakes or carnation drinks as I was told by dr not to because of the calories in them. I also have the Isopure clear liquid Protein to drink as well. I'm never hungry and honestly I walk 4 times a day outside in the fresh air for 15 min (.53 miles) each time and that helps with the pain immensely!! I don't walk fast but I walk and pause if needed. I started that the day of surgery just not outside. It's the key to pain control for me. Of course I'm in norco too. Anyway that's what I do! Popscicles are my favorite they're like heaven!! I got the fruit ones and they are amazingly yummy.
  10. You're beautiful and he's a doll! How fun is that - that you made him a part of the moment! Great job mommy!!
  11. Yes isn't it amazing how the doctors are not on the same page?
  12. Wow you can have mashed potatoes at 4 days post op? I am on Clear liquids for a week then a week of full liquids before i can get puréed foods.
  13. I made my own far-free chicken broth and it is so yummy!! The first time making it and I don't regret it!
  14. My highest weight was 275. -Start of the journey I weighed 265 in aug 2011 - pre-op 6-7-12 I weighed 250 - no weight today as I just came home from the hospital
  15. Should be going home in the next couple hours. Wish I didn't have to leave this room- its like a hotel and it's clean and peaceful. But missing my kids so I'm also glad I'm going home soon! Thanks for all the prayers and best wishes- so far so good
  16. Congrats! Hope you are feeling well
  17. My name on Facebook is Ellie Odermatt - there 2 have to choose the one with the same pic as on here. Other is an old one I can't access
  18. I don't know but you can buy the chewables online- for example bariatric advantage has them- not tried them yet but I own them. Haha
  19. Yes I'm grateful that I didn't have the drain - walking with the cath etc was not too bad actually ☺
  20. No no drain just the catheter which will be in place until tomorrow morning!! Yuck
  21. Josee I'm doing pretty good! Been up walking twice now at 15 min each- pain is a bit more now but bearable- actually my back is hurting me the most and pain meds aren't helping that. This place is really nice- you were so right. Love the private room and the tv with the movies is great- not that I've watched much since I keep going to sleep. But nick the husband is enjoying watching and keeps him entertained
  22. Fluffy dr said the repair doesn't cause any extra pain and good to be fixed - when is your surgery?
  23. Ray- The air guy didn't divulge anything - at least my job prepares me for those kinds of conversations lol!! No laughing yet- ill remind nick to not make me laugh - of course then he will try just to be funny haha. Been walking and that felt good- two jaunts at 15 min each. So far so good. Pain is bearable but more then it was earlier. Gas pain is barely there right now - I'm sure it will come back . Hope Kelly feels better
  24. Yes it went well. They found a small hernia and they fixed that too. As soon as nurse comes and unhooks me I will go on a little walk in room. Pain minimal at this point. Ate a popscicle and drinking some juice- no problems
  25. All went well so far. Found a small hernia and fixed that too. About to get up and walk as soon as nurse comes and unhooked everything. Just really drowsy. Feeling pain but not that bad. Thanks everyone
