  1. I really appreciate everyone's help! I'm gonna do my one week liquid protein diet and start tracking my food again. I do 3 exercise classes A week but I'm going to aim for 4. Thanks for the just pick yourself up angle rather than the how could you let yourself go tactic. Thanks again for your support!
  2. I am only 7 months post op and I'm already fallen off the wagon. I need back to basics already. I have constant cravings for chocolate. I can and do eat everything I did before surgery (smaller portions, but not the healthiest choices). I think I need some motivation or maybe a reminder from you all of why we all did this in the first place. I just got back from vacation (nice time, but was at my worset with diet). I plan on starting tomarrow a one week liquid diet to detox, but I still need the motivation to keep it going. If u have words of wisdom, please help!!! Thanks Jessica
  3. Mine actually tightened up... It was a lot lower and bulky and now my crouch area is more womanly.
  4. Got my belly button pierced, always wanted it done now I'm finally comfortable to have it. I love it!!!
  5. I have been having anxiety about gaining weight. I would be fine if I stayed where I'm at. I'm a size 8. But I even have bad dreams about gaining it all back. I think it's because all my other attempts have failed at weightloss. Is anyone else having these same dreams/ anxiety/ fears???
  6. I am having the same problem with my boobs. I was a 38dd and now I'm a 34d but there is nothing to them, Defiently thinking of getting them done. I went from a size 18 to a size 8 in 5 months. I fit into a juniors large shirt (boob size) but non the less 'juniors' can u believe it... I still can't!! I only have three pairs of work pants that I rotate, because I think I have more to go in my waist. I can go the summer with just a few pairs of shorts, but will do some major shopping in the fall. Great job to everyone!!!
  7. Ok so here is my quick story. I quit smoking Jan 1st 2011 and I didn't start smoking again till Nov 2011. I quit again dec 26th 2011 till about April 2012. I had my surgery Jan 9 2012. Anyways, I can't believe I gave in again. I was wondering if anyone else smokes and if anyone knows the consequences of doing it. Thanks! Jessica (diddle106)
  8. I have had extremely low blood pressure since my surgery. But they tell me this is my new normal. So issue yes, problem I guess not. Also I had extremely low energy levels too right after surgery and it did take me till about 8 weeks to get over it. I have more energy now than when I Was in my first weeks after surgery, but not as much as I had hoped for before I went into surgery. Wishing I would get a boost too. I am about a week away from being 4 months post op. I think if I got myself to eat more regular food I would have more, but I keep reverting back to, yogurt, sf pudding, oatmeal, Soup. Had for me to commit to eating beef/chicken/seafood everyday. I do still drink 3 Protein drinks a day though. I hope u figure out your energy issues soon. Good luck!!
  9. I do believe I started yogurt, oatmeal, sugar free pudding and sugar free jello. I counted on the protein shakes a lot at this point. Hope you get the ok. Let us know.
  10. Why are they so strict about smoking? I quit 2 weeks before my surgery. Just wondering why they want you to quit so far out?
  11. When I read your post I thought of my situation with thinner liquids. I don't get a pain, but if I drink water, plain water, even if it's just a swallow to take meds I feel like its gonna come back out. But if I have crystal light in it I'm fine. Not sure why my body hates plain water now. I'm not sure what your ache is, I've never read anything else like this, but maybe someone else has. I hope this gets better and is just a short phase. Good luck
  12. You probably won't see a change in two weeks, your belly probably is still a bit blown or swelled up from the gas. Plus we are harder on ourselves then others, so I bet u do look different and there are changes, u just can't see them but others do. I bet u will be surprised at your appointment of how much weight u have lost. You can't get discouraged, it's only been two weeks. Patience. Good luck and let us know how your appt. goes.
  13. Good luck with your surgery!!!
  14. Nice head start! Keep at it!
  15. Hope all went well. Let us know how it went. Wishing you fast healing and lots of weight loss.
  16. Awesome!!! So glad u are having a good experience. I have never tries cottage cheese, I wanted to, but just can't get myself too. Maybe it's the consistency of it. Well I'm glad u found something you like. Keep us updated. Again congrats on your success.
  17. Congratulations!! I know u almost hate to get excited to protect yourself from disappointment. I've never heard of insurance changing their mind. I would defiantly wait till you have something in writing, but this is a great sign!!! Congrats. Let us know of your date when u get it set.
  18. Congrats!!!! Take it easy. I wish you fast healing and amazing weight loss. Keep us updated!
  19. I am 3 months and I've lost 55 pounds
  20. Krista, omg I got so angry reading your post. I can't believe your boyfriend would do that. I just figure if you are dating then you probably want it to go somewhere and if u do then you want to be supportive and caring to your significant other. I feel so bad u have to deal with that. Of course I don't know the whole story but when I read what you wrote I wanted to kick slam your man. Lol!!!! Hope you do well with surgery. To the lady that is drinking only one shake a day, I am not your mother but I feel like lecturing anyways. Get your Protein in!!! They have these protein shot bullet type things at sam's club, they are 23g a shot. Please please please go get yourself some and take two a day, it's at least something. Your body will not heal if your body doesn't have protein. You will be sick and lose hair if you continue this after surgery. To the gentlemen who suggested atkins shakes, I agree they are yum!! And finally to all those starting or just started their liquid diet, you can do this. This is the final step to get your surgery. You have already decided at this point that this is the new lifestyle you want to live and so you have to push yourself for two weeks to drink (my doctor suggested 5 shakes, or 65 grams of protein) your shakes. The hunger, sleepiness and headaches only last the first three days and then u will find yourself ok with it. The point is to shrink your liver, if u don't shrink it enough they have to work harder and it will take longer to recover. Don't let that happen to you. I personally lost 20 pounds on preop diet, don't u want the head start? Please don't cheat, you can do this!!! Ok I'm done ranting. Hope everyone is well. Jessica.
  21. Hey Melissa, Welcome!!! I am 3 months post op. I finally after a bit of ups and downs, I'm kinda in a comfy zone. Although I'm thinking I may be losing hair now. But I guess that's part of it. I hope I can offer u some support or advice during your process. I too did it to help my diabetes, and I've made a little progress. Well good luck!!! I
  22. I started more solid food about week 6ish, but kept reverting back to mushy foods because it was easier or that's all I had in house. I tried ribs at 8 weeks, that went well. I also was able to do salad at that point too. Lunch meat was a savor at this stage. I would do one slice of ham and one of turkey and half a slice of cheese on each with a little light miricle whip and roll them up and that would be lunch. I still enjoy that now at 3 months out.
  23. I was so just like you around eight weeks. I did well with low sugar oatmeal, and low fat yogurt. I absolutely could not do chicken, tried everyway possible. I still did a lot of protein shakes at this point. Oh ya eggs were my best friend, hard boiled. Key is chew chew chew!! It's hard but if not u end up so sick. Also what I found helped was to take the first bite and then sit for like 2 minutes, it almost "woke" up my tummy. Hope this helps, but really it's all trial and error. Good luck.
  24. So I did it, I gave in to chocolate. Damn Easter bunny!!! Well I defiantly don't dump. Boo... I told my husband that candy/ sweets are just not allowed to be in the house. I can go out and not think about it twice, but if it's sitting in my kitchen I can't stop thinking about it. Bad me! I guess this is where I accept my mistake and move on and try to not let that happen again, but it's so hard to forgive yourself sometimes.
